I know this is early, but curious to see who else is planning on applying to Massasoits nursing program for fall 2016? I am finally on my last two prerequisites right now.
hopefulRN'17 I got your PM but I don't have enough posts to reply to it. I wanted to ask you about books. For Nursing 101 did you purchase all of the book on the list ? I'm not sure which books I should rent or purchase. Please let me know :)
I was also wondering if the Web Access for some of the books is a requirement, as the used books that I'm looking at don't come with it.
Yes I got mine today, books cost $700 but I really want to know if there's any book we could rent, I would love to save as much money as I can. That's already a lot of money not including the cost of uniforms and any supplies we may need for clinicals.
I must be a little farther away from the campus than most. Hopefully I get my packet tomorrow :) . I'm going to purchase the books that are required, as I'm guessing we will probably use most throughout the duration of the program. But I could be wrong, I'm sure hopefulRN17 will stop in again to answer that for us.
I would love to be able to see this list. Can anyone take a pic and email it to me? [email protected]
The only book I have purchased so far (textbook wise) is the medical surgical nursing book. You will need that throughout the program. Everything else I rented. The one thing I did invest in was the success books, and reviews and rationales by Hogan. (In every single subject) if you buy the NCLEX RN by Hogan .. That is essentially all the subjects in one.
You will definitely need a drug book, care plan book, labs (you can get a mini book to carry in clinical)
:)

Actually... I really wouldn't be saying that. I am born and raised in the Q and the only thing that was holding that program together was a few professors. (Due to allnurses rules I cannot say their names on here) They have since left and that program is once again in disarray. Their 2015 NCLEX pass rate of 72% is also an indication.
I'm sorry that you didn't get into Massasoit but I hope that you do get into a program. =)
