I am up to renew my RN license in November and realized they now have that mandatory Domestic Violence training in order to renew. Thank goodness I was able to register for the one May 16th b/c it is the last one for the year they said. Wondering if any of you have been to the training yet? It is from 4-7:30 5/16 in Westborough.

Didn't know about this regulation until now so thanks. After a brief web search I found this update from March stating there will be an e-learning tool but it wasn't ready so nurses would be able to renew and take the training once it was ready. Update to required training for Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention - Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (MCNP)
I could only find one other training for it, from MNA, but the organizers stated the training was based on their best guess from early guidelines as the requirements weren't out yet. https://www.massnurses.org/files/file/2%20Domestic%20%20Sexual%20Violence%20Training%209_17%2001.pdf
Who is organizing the training in Westborough?

Hi, the Massachusetts Nurse Association also offers a course in Danvers. It appears to be free for members and $ 95 for non-members.

It's suppose to be coming online, too. I have not taken either. Do you get the district emails from DPH?

Yes, I got one from Shanyn Toulouse which mentioned the training I am registered for in Westborough. That on is the same speaker as the one mentioned coming to Danvers in June, but $50 instead of $95. I would much rather go to Danvers as it is near my house, but the date doesn't work for me.

Interesting- the same speaker is doing the one in Westborough (and all the previous ones as well).

Mine is up in June, and we were told that we can wait for the online course to happen, because then it would be free, and they are waving the requirement until the end of the year because so many people need to take it and there are not enough classes. SO, I will renew and wait for the online one to be available.

I don't live in Massachusetts, but I've kept my MA nursing license active. My job's yearly mandatory training includes a unit on abuse. I hope that counts.
Glad I posted this because you guys gave me the info that it would be posted on line at some point. I ended up cancelling my course I was going to attend on May 16th and getting refunded my $50. I have so much going on at home right now and I was stressing about not being home that night. I can now just wait and do it online.
