Becker College or Labouree?

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Just got accepted to both Universities.. not sure about them since I heard bad reviews about Labouree...

1. They accept technically most people who apply.

2. Their program is losing its accreditation?

about Becker.. well! it is far but don't know much about how good of a school it is...

Any thoughts? (Both are ASN programs and both are expressive)

tnx

NCLEX PASS RATES:

2015 - Becker 100%, Laboure 64%

2014 - Becker 97%, Laboure 60%

2013 - Becker 100%, Laboure 75%

2012 - Becker 98%, Laboure 82%

I would avoid Laboure at all costs. I din't know much about Becker but their numbers look great.

I can't speak to Becker's nursing program, but a friend of mine attended there and it appeared to be a quality school. I know a couple of nurses that graduated from Labouree, they both struggle with large loan payments.

From MA BON:

"The following list identifies the approval status of Board approved nursing educations programs, as of December 14, 2016.

Approval with Warning:

Associate Degree Registered Nurse Program, Laboure College, effective November, 9 2016ï‚·

MCPHS University Accelerated Registered Nurse Baccalaureate Program (Boston), effective December 15, 2016ï‚·

Elms College Registered Nurse Baccalaureate Program, effective December 15, 2016"

Another reason to steer clear of Laboure.

I went to Laboure and although I passed the NCLEX on the first try, I know many who did not. The school at times was also very unorganized, and it costs a fortune (prices keep rising too). It was over 10k for one nursing class. I would try to get into a BSN program if you can! Good luck!
