applying to Quincy College part time program for Jan 2013

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hi,

Is anyone else applying to this program? The application deadline is July 15. I am planning to apply - now trying to figure out how I can take the prerequisites in time!

woops, double post! :roflmao:

Well, thank you for your candor. And, while all of that information was appreciated, it was very hard to read..... Any chance the PT evening program is magically protected from the issues some students have experienced during the full time day program???

oddly enough, everything I've heard about the pt program is GREAT! Wish I had went that route. I don't understand how one program in a school can be so opposite from the other. are you starting the pt program?

I am in part time evening- so far I wish I had went somewhere else- good luck

I am about to begin the PT evening program. I recently heard some....grumbling, from other students regarding the FT day program, but (until now) nothing negative about the evening program. I'm trying to maintain my excitement, and just remembering that no matter where I go, people will have had mixed feelings about "x" program....

On the bright side, you'll be graduating in a few months or a couple semesters and will be able to sit for the NCLEX.

That's true. I'm still excited. I can understand how clinical rescheduling can frustrate students who have other commitments. The unorganized admin stinks, but not enough to make me decide to wait another year (or more) for another program. The educational aspect of the school seems fine to me.

Just got my uniform today! Have you bought your stethoscope yet? I ended up getting the Littmann lightweight.

I agree, so far I've had a great educational experience at QC and I am so excited to begin this new leg that I couldn't imagine waiting for another program! I got my uniform a week or two ago- the pants are huge and reminiscent of my dad's old Navy uniform! I ordered a stethoscope, its a littman, i think the master classic? i read really good things about it online. Did you order a lab coat from McGill's?

I heard great things about the littmann master classic too. My pants are way too big as well (and too long)...I might have to bring it to a tailor. Yeah I ordered the lab coat from McGill's during the orientation so I received it along with the rest of my uniform.

Crap! The person I checked out with asked me if I wanted the sweater, but I declined. That was it. No other items were mentioned. Meanwhile, the person next to me wrote a check much larger than mine and I was racking my brain trying to figure out what they bought! Owell, I will have to order one right away. How did the lab coat run? I wonder if I can exchange the pants....

Do you have any idea when we will hear back about the clinical and lab assignments we requested?

My lab coat is 1 size smaller (men's size) than my scrubs. My scrubs are actually pretty loose and I could've gone one size down, but I like it a bit loose. I didn't even realize that we need to wear lab coat 'til I got the lab sign-up sheet...I would've ordered an extra one.

I don't know about the assignments, but should be able to find out more next Tuesday (I'm going to the Quincy campus) I hope.

Thanks for your input on the lab coat,
