Hey, how are you? I have a question for you... how much is each credit for the nursing program? I know it's more than regular classes, but I cannot recall the info right now. I'm trying to plan how to pay bills, mortgage, etc and how much school will cost roughly... thanks.

Hi erinlee! I'm doing well. I have a nursing info meeting wed. Its for qualified applicants who are still waitlisted. Its all the the program, and any ques needed to be asked, schedules, stuff like that. I also got a job finally... its as a cardio tech. I should start in 2 weeks. How's ur job? Did mcc send u anymore info about orientation or other stuff? U must be excited for that. Lyn, I only know the evening program credits are 300 dollars per credit which is expensive. Maybe I can find out at the meeting wed and let u know.....

So not to sound creepy, but I have been following this post for a couple months now; always debating whether to post. I was glad to read that someone was called after acceptance letters had been sent out, as someone on here said "there is hope". My completed packet was stamped for July of 09, and I have a girl in my Micro evening class this semester who was accepted for Evening 2010, and she did not complete her packet until May of 09. I am hoping Fall Evening 2011 will be my turn (like all of us here)!

Hi patno86, its ok to follow the thread, ur not looks like u and I will be in class hopefully for evenings 2011. How is micro? I'm taking it starting june 1rst. I think I may be a little crazy for taking it in the summer but oh well. Is it really hard? What classes do u have left to take? I heard for the evening program its thurs and fri nites and clinical is on sat from 7 to 130. I hope we make it in for then. I really wanted to start this fall but its full already. Imagine getting called and being able to start earlier tho! That'd be great. Its nice to know someone else for the evening program because everyone I talk to is looking to start the day program.

My Step Mom is an RN, and she said the one class which made her question if she had what it took to be a Nurse was Micro. Once she passed that, it was all gravy! It is certainly a demanding class, lecture is intense, but the professor is great. Also, labs consume a lot of time and you should expect to run past the end of class timeline (only by a few minutes every now and then though). Our first two tests the class average was a 69 and 72; she said this was about on par with her previous classes (if that gives you any idea). It does seem like we may in fact be in the same class, which is great! When did you submit your application/when was it stamped? I only have Intro to Stats to complete and I will have completed all the non Nursing classes. During the wait, I have decided to take Intro to Sociology and Child Growth and Development, as these are classes UMASS Lowell requires for the BSN Program.

Hi patno86, I assumed micro will be tough, yippee... I took the math connections course years ago but now I found out I need intro to stats too. Looks like I will be taking that soon I guess. When do u think u will take it? That'd be fuuny if we were in that class together too! My app was complete last fall. I sent in all my stuff last march 2009 but my algebra score didn't qualify till the fall. I stink in math and I hear stats is tough. I know nthis december they will send out the letters for fall 2011 acceptance. That seems soooo far away. I want to continue my bsn as well at salem state. I live about 20 minutes away from there. What interest in nursing do u have an idea of? I want to do surgical and pacu nursing. I love the operating room. lyn- I will pm u about the info from the meeting ok.

They have a stats class in the fall on a tues thurs schedule. I believe it is 12 to 115p. I might look into that one.

    Is that Bedford or Lowell?

That class I mentioned is in bedford. There is also a tues thurs class in lowell at 1030 to 1145. Where are u gonna go for the class?

I just checked again and they have that tues thurs class in lowell too from 12 to 115.

I prefer Bedford for commuting to work after class. Those hours are good for me too...hmmm, sounds like you have done the hard work for me, thanks a bunch!

LynM- Your question earlier about how much each credit for the nursing program...I found an answer. According to the registrar's office the day classes are the regular price of 150/credit, but there are a couple of different fees (they are small fees). For the night program they are all 300 a piece I think.
