Marymount University Accelerated BSN Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I didn't see a thread for anyone who applied to Marymount for the ABSN for FALL 2017 so I wanted to start one! hopefully this isn't redundant. I submitted early and already got my letter letting me know of when their first and second review is. I took the TEAS on January 27th. Anxiously waiting to hear back.

I also applied to GMU and GW. Where else did everyone apply? I'm from Alexandria, VA and am super nervous b/c everywhere is SO competitive!

I also got accepted to the accelerated program. How are you guys planning on paying for it? and is there any way to find out exactly how much each semester is going to cost?

Are y'all getting your acceptance letters through the mail or by email? I am still waiting to hear back!

I plan to go with financial aid. At the info session last fall, they said it will be around $60,000 for the 16 months the not including books

$60k? I thought I saw $40k when I found some figures last year. Damn... come on GMU admission, don't want to pay that much.

Has anyone heard about traditional BSN transfer program yet?

I dont know if it is because I am on the west coast but I havent gotten anything yet

Hi, everyone! Congrats on getting accepted. I was also accepted last month. I've been reading this thread for a while, and this is my first time commenting.

I just wanted to post about the cost of the program.

I added tuition, fees, course fees (labs and clinicals), health insurance (I estimated $1800 here because I'm from California and will need to sign up for the campus insurance) and textbooks (I estimated $800/semester). The total I got is $68,599.

I won't be working and I am fresh out of undergrad, so I also did an estimate including $40 gas/week for 64 weeks (16 weeks/semester), and my grand total including gas is $71,159.

I really thought the total cost would be closer to $60k, but oh well.

Nursing is something I've wanted to do since my first quarter of college ended (long story- but basically my school didn't have a nursing program so here I am, about to start this ABSN), so although this school is super expensive, I think it'll be worth it in the end.

I'm excited to meet you all this fall!

Hi everyone! I also got accepted to the fall 2017 ABSN program and will be attending. Very excited to get down there and meet everyone. Someone should make a facebook group or something so we can all get to know each other and possibly figure out housing/roommates. Idk about the rest of you but sharing a place seems like the most affordable option. Grats again everyone :D

yes lets start a facebook group!!! i got accepted via email to the absn program!!!

So I am from California as well. Where are you from? Maybe we can chat about moving and all the stuff that comes with this transition for us! I am in a similar situation... I am not fresh out of undergrad I am about 3 years past but let me know if you want to connect so we can try to figure this out together!

Hi Aimee,

I am actually already living in Alexandria, VA! I completed my Bachelor's last June, and moved out here the same month. It was my first time ever leaving San Diego. I am still a dependent, so my health insurance is based in SoCal because that's where my mom works, if that makes any sense. That's why I said I'll have to sign up for Marymount's student health insurance. :)

Where are you from?

By the way, I think in order to create a FB group, whoever creates it has to automatically invite some of their FB friends to join. So in order for someone in this thread to begin a group, you'll have to already have us on your friends list. It won't let you create the group if you don't invite some of your friends right away. Does that make sense??
