Marquette Direct Entry MSN 2012

Published

Hi! Any Marquette hopefuls this app. cycle? I'm a little ahead of the game here but am too excited not to be =0) I'm applying to the CNM track!

that is definitely a big question I've had...I wonder if they would be able to tell us if we called/emailed the admissions office and asked? Because that is something that could make or break my decision to attend Marquette for this program should I be accepted...it would be difficult to justify going through all that extra schooling and spending all that money to not achieve my overarching goal of becoming an NP.

hi uwbadger,

this is what the graduate programs coordinator had to say:

students already in the program will be grandfathered, but if you choose to you will be able to continue on to receive the dnp or phd.

I would hope we would be grandfathered in that situation. Also, I read a good point someone made on the thread you posted, wpolorocker..that person mentioned that in 2020 (for example) if that switch does in fact happen in 2015, it may be more marketable to have achieved a DNP than just an MSN when job hunting, even if you were grandfathered. But I guess that would be a risk we'd have to take..? And hopefully job experience at that point would override the higher level of education..

Ahhh ok! Thanks for checking into that wpolorocker!

Thank you ladies for the information!!!!

I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! I received an acceptance e-mail today!!!! So much to do...

I knew it would be soon! After chatting with you, sunny, I am even more pumped for you than I would be for myself and that is no joke!! CONGRATULATIONS!!
