Maricopa CEP Spring 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey everyone! I see there isn't a spring 2019 forum yet so I thought I'd make one for all that have applied. What schools did you guys apply to and with how many points? :) wishing good luck to everyone! I applied to CGCC/ASU with 20 points

I would like to ask if(there are any) there are other fees aside the ASU $435 per credit for the CEP program.

Thanks for the information....I will have to also look at ASU then...My concern about ASU is if there are other fees aside the $435 per credit hour.

I'm not sure because I am not partnered with ASU. You will have book costs and often an "online class fee", but I don't know exact figures. I'll ask one of my cohort who is with ASU and will let you know.

Hello All,

I will be applying to MCC/UIU for Fall 2019. Does anyone have useful information about UIU and how it compares to ASU.

Thanks

Ozed,

I attend UIU. You are able to use your Pell grant and UIU does use the consortium agreement. I cannot speak to the comparison with ASU, but I really like UIU. Like most of the other schools, the terms are 8 weeks each, so you only take 1 class at a time. There is a little busy work, but the courses are not overly difficult. Most of your stress and frustration will come from your community college nursing classes. All the hard work will be worth it in the end......at least that is what I keep telling myself! I feel like the UIU program is a bit smaller and I feel I get more attention than I would in a larger program. Everyone is very attentive and helpful. Good luck!!

I got in!! GWCC/UIU evenings! 20 points. Congrats everyone!

Hi! I applied to Gwcc/UIU evenings for summer/fall start. What do you think of the program so far? (I know you haven't gone through a whole semester at gwcc yet.) What's your schedule like for clinicals?

Sorry for all the questions...thanks for reading.

DOES anyone know why the CEP application asks if you are a current employee of Abrazo Arrowhead?

Is anyone else still waiting on Castlebranch to complete the background check? It's going on 3 weeks and all they can say is that one of the vendors is taking a long time. Is this normal?

Yes it can take ages. I think there is an option to contact them if you are getting concerned though, so log-in and shoot them an email.

Hi all, what are your opinions on the university choices (pros and cons)? I was mainly interested in GCU, but after reading this thread it sounds like a lot went with ASU or UIU. Thanks!

Hi -

Unless there have been changes, GCU is only for those who are pursuing a Masters degree. I spent a long time researching all the universities. I compared their program/classes, length of program, costs, etc. I wrote to all the universities and assessed things such as response time, information provided, support etc. In the end, I whittled it down to NAU and Ottawa based on positive experiences with people emailing me back, along with the lower cost per credit.

I chose Ottawa in the end because NAU had more pre-reqs which would have meant I had to take more classes before I could apply, plus I found their communication bar far the best of any of the others.

I have not regretted my decision, I would chose Ottawa again in a heartbeat. The class structure is great. PM me if you have any specific questions.

HTH,

AC

Hi all! I'm finishing my last master's degree pre-req which is HCR 240 and am planning to apply next semester. Anybody has any of their course calendar for AAS MSN to share? I am curious of how it looks like.

I also would like to see if you get a copy of it. I'll be applying in December as well.
