Maricopa CEP Fall 2021 (Applicants for December 1, 2020- February 1, 2021)

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello everyone! Just wondering how many of you are applying to the CEP program this coming December 2020?  I couldn't find a post for the upcoming Maricopa CEP application period so I figured I'd start a post to see who will be applying and if you would like to share your score and schools of choice.

I will be applying to Grand Canyon University with:

First choice: Glendale Community College (weekend cohort)

Second Choice: Estrella Mountain Community College

HESI A2 scores:

Englist - 95.33%

Math - 98%

GPA: 3.84

No prior degree

Overall points: 86.47

Hey guys,

Any updates once your background check is cleared and such? I got an email and letter from NAU welcoming me back to NAU and mentioned that I'm good to register for the Summer classes but I thought we have to go through some sort of orientation before we can register and I haven't heard anything... :?

Specializes in Nursing.

ya. I got the same from NAU. I think we will hear more through middle of the month from the respective community college on next steps on onboarding details. This is what I was told by MCC. Background check is dealt by placement team of Maricopa colleges in Tempe so they have a deadline for that through middle of next week. If you are doing check for the first time in ADB it takes 5-7 days.

Hi,

Yea guess I'll wait it out for a little to see if they send out any information. Just wanted to pick my classes already so that I can plan out my schedules since two of those classes are in-person at the NAU North Campus. Thank you for your reply. ?

Hey everyone! I applied on January 28, 2021. Yes, I know I was pushing close toward the deadline which is Feb. 1st, but I was SO nervous to take my HESI so I waited until late January to take it. I was surprised after I took it because I did a DECENT job on it, 96% Math and 85.33% English (I rushed the grammar (76%) portion bc I was running out of time on the HESI) which landed me a 88% Cumulative Score. I’m definitely not mad at it since it was my first try but I know I could do better. I am a TAD discouraged after totaling my score for my application.

GPA 3.59 x 10 = 3.59 (All A’s & B’s in required courses)

96% Math x .15 = 14.4

85.33% English x .35 = 29.9

Total Points = 80.2

I have no previous degree, I’m only 20 now so unfortunately no extra points for me ?

After reading the comments I’m lowkey scared I won’t get in the program! My first choice is Phoenix College, Estrella is my second, and PVCC is my third. ASU is my university choice. Even though I have some doubts I’m still confident and hopeful I will get in since PC is my first choice. I will post if I got accepted or not in the next couple weeks to help give some information to other nursing applicants in my position.

were you able to get in?

I had similar scores and I got in. I believe I had about 80-82 points and I was accepted into PC/NAU.

This is my second time applying for CEP program. I applied through CGCC and UIU this time.

HESI score: eng: 82.67 math: 96
GPA: 3.565

78.98

I'm freaking out in fear because I really tried retake one of my classes and retook the HESI twice. My score just seems like nothing... Does anyone know what was the lowest accepted into UIU last cohort?

Hi were you able to get in?

nope

do you mind telling me what school you apply and scores you apply with

I had 80.67 but they screwed my stuff all up. Someone didn't input my retake classes scores correctly and ended up saying I had a 77. They didn't give my calculus grade of an A with 5 credits and used college math B grade with 3 credits. That is a significant GPA difference. They told me oh well and to apply next round :(((( I got next round cep with an 83.75

?‍♀️ oh no. I am so sorry to hear that. I am sure that with 83.75, you absolutely get in next cycle.

Hang in there! ??

Hey guys! This website is awesome. Feeling a little discouraged and looking to talk to people in the same boat as I am. I just submitted my application for the 2021 CEP NAU program. 1st choice: Chandler-Gilbert 2nd: Mesa 3rd: Scottsdale.

I do not have a previous associates degree, and the AGEC-A doesn't count unfortunately. I go an overall 96 on my HESI.  Math was 96 and English Composite was 96. Still unsure of my GPA but it is somewhere between 3.2-3.5, I've calculated it a bunch of times, but transcript vs. NAU shows differently. I have at least 80 points, 83 max. I am so nervous! I've seen people post on here saying they know people who got in with a 78, and others that said high 80's are necessary. Anyone that can comment on this, I'd be so grateful; my anxiety is through the roof.

Also, I just hung up with my advisor and she had said that the lowest they take at Chandler-Gilbert is 83.7 usually, highest 96! That's why I am so discouraged =[ I am on the low end of the cusp. She said something about "if I don't get in, I can reapply for the next round", which is why I'm feeling down. Does anyone have similar scores or know anyone who got accepted with scores like mine? Clearly, I need some reassurance LOL. Thanks everyone!

Hi! I just saw this LOL May I ask, how come your AGEC-A didn’t count? I am doing the exact same thing you are but now I am worried after reading this post?

hi! I noticed that someone said a regular associates in arts AA (AGEC-A) does not count toward the CEP rubric. Therefore 2.5 point will not be awarded to those with this type of degree... is this true? because the rubric says 2.5 point for AA... it's an AA why won't they accept this? has anyone applied to the CEP with this degree?
