Maricopa CEP Fall 2020 (Applicants for December 1st- January 31st)

Our lamp lighting ceremony was during our pinning at the CC. It usually takes place about a week or so after your final exam and classes. That allows them time to audit your file to be absolutely sure that you have done everything you need to do in order to be granted the degree.
During our pinning, which was about an hour to hour and half long, we received our pin (on a ribbon that was placed around our neck) and we did the lamp lighting as a group. You choose someone special to pin you - such as your partner, parent(s), best friend, or whatever.
From my understanding my university will do a pinning/graduation but no lamp lighting.

Thank you I know ASU does a lighting the lamp ceremony once you get accepted to the nursing program.. just wondering if CC’s do the same

Hi gomezy -

That must be something new because I have never heard of a lamp lighting ceremony being done before you complete your course.

Has anyone heard from a college? There is this lady on a Facebook group saying she’s been accepted at a community college in the west side of AZ. But she hasn’t responded to me when I asked which one. Lol

I think I’m the only lady in the world that doesn’t have a Facebook. ?

It may be a good thing. Lol but she just said it’s from Pima county. Soo yea that answered my question. Lol ?

Oh. If it’s from pima county... was it logged in the maricopa CC? I don’t know how Facebook works. But is the “group” only for students in the maricopa area? Or are there other schools involved?

I’m not too sure. It’s a pre req nursing school group. I only saw she mentioned west side of AZ. Which Made me think EMCC or GCC lol but guess not. The waiting continues.....

Turning in my CEP application:

I did my maricopa nursing traditional application back in August 2019. I asked Maria at CGCC what else I would need to bring in when I apply for the CEP program. She said to bring the declaration, cep application, and the unofficial transcripts of the rest of the classes I took to complete the application.

I turned it in on December 13 ish.

Someone said they turned the unofficial transcripts for all their classes again?

I am applying to the asu / cep program. I had taken a couple courses at asu in spring 2019 and the rest of my cep classes I took at cgcc. did asu need a copy of transcripts they already had from me? IDK.

I also NEVER received an email saying my application was not submitted so I think I am ok.

I know a girl who got an email saying she couldnt move forward because her application was not right.

Also, I believe Maria wouldve told me if my application was not complete.

I never got an email about my application being processed so hopefully everything stays on time. i planned a Disneyland trip the week of march 9th i figure either ill be celebrating or having a pity party in my favorite place on earth. We are almost there praying for everyone ❤️

i had to turn off my student email because I kept checking it twice a day even though I know acceptance letters don’t got out until monday.
