Hello there everyone! Newbie on the threads here! So, I am thinking of getting my BSN, and I already have a bachelors degree so naturally, the ABSN programs around Indianapolis draw me. I went in to see Marian University for St. Vincent health last week for an appointment to talk about my transcripts and stuff. Does anyone know anything about this program? It seemed like there were some good things about it, but I figured I would check with some other people that may have heard about it or even talked to them? They said it is done online and the clinicals are done for st. vincent health hospitals, which is awesome, because I know that they have a good reputation in the city. And I guess it woudl be good to have the opportunity to be able to do my homework after I come home from Broad Ripple if it came down to it (even though I might not do so well on it lol) :-) I also was looking around on here for similar programs that have that online-and-hospital format, and saw there are some programs in California (which is actually University of Oklahoma, weird) and people like them. Also, they said they have NO WAITING LISTS! From the other programs I have been checking in to, if you aren't a valedictorian, it is super hard to get in. No waiting lists is great for me because I want to start as quickly as I can!
So, if anyone has heard anything, or knows anything about the program, please reply! I am ready to get started on becoming a nurse!
Thanks!
Sorry, forgot this, but if anyone hasn't seen it, the website is http://www.marian.edu/stv

I went to the information session for this program as I am also planning to get my BSN and already have another Bachelor's. The program seems legit, the only issue I had with it is the cost. Since I already have my Bachelor's there is little financial aid available to me other than loans. I already took out plenty of loans for my first degree, so taking out more really isn't an option. The BSN program at Marian is 4 semesters, at $12,500 a semester, so I am looking into cheaper options. Just something to think about. I do have a friend who is currently in the program and she really likes it. They just started this program, so I am sure there are some kinks to work out. I'm sure if you contacted the school they may be able to get you in touch with a current student who would be able to tell you more about their experience.

There is a similiar accelarated BSN program offered here in Las Vegas. I went to the informational session and the counselor recommended taking the Marian University's online nursing pre-reqs. The program here is 14 months and includes online instruction and clinical rotations at three of the Catholic Healthcare West hospitals in town. I'm wondering if anyone has taken the online pre-reqs for Marian to see how difficult they are?
