March 2012 CHLA RN Residency Program

Hey everyone,

is anyone applying for March 2012 RN residency program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles??

Did you talk to a nurse recruiter?? Are we all suppose to be invited to the open house??

I just called the nurse recruiter and she said they'll start reviewing applications/packets after oct 14, they'll start making calls after that within 2 weeks, and that there is no open house.

I'm still waiting for an updated letter from one of my preceptors from when I did my rotation at CHLA during nursing school. Does anyone know if it matters if we turn in the packet early if it makes a difference? I just want to be sure it is all together.

Also, did anyone else include a copy of their cover letter in the packet? When I applied in the earlier cohort (before graduation) I could have sworn it asked for a cover letter, so I put it in this packet, as well.

I'm including my cover letter. I think somewhere in the application it says to include your resume and then in parenthesis it says to add your cover letter. If I'm wrong, then whatever. They can just easily ignore it.

Hi sugarlips,

You mentioned that you applied last cohort. Did you get an interview? I have no idea if it matters if you turn in your packet earlier or not, but I feel like it matters when you applied (but I'm just guessing).

No interview because I applied too early. I was still in school and there was no way I would have gotten my license before the start of the program. There had been a rumor that it would start in October versus September due to the move to the new hospital. However, it started on time.

Soon maybe? I know for UCLA's new grad program, they already sent out some rejection e-mails.
