Nursing Students General Students
Published Jul 18, 2005
I'm starting an ADN program this fall and I was just curious to see how many hours other nursing students work while in school. Please, everybody answer so we can get a good picture of the amounts.
I plan on working 15-20 hours.

Thank god I don't have any kids. I don't know how some mothers do it all! I take my hat off to you.
We don't sleep... that's how. :)

I agree that working while in school will be hard but I know a lot of us belong to the "work because we have to" club. I think it ihelps to have a supportive family!!! My husband is very supportive and so is my family. They told me that anytime I need a day to myself to let them know. I also am taking the later class from 10-11:50 so I plan on also going in a little earlier and hunkering down int he library. Also in my job I will be using alot of mys kills that I am going to be learning!

Thank you so much for all of your replies. Keep em' coming!
I can't believe that so many of you work so much and still manage to do well in Nursing school, I give you props because I don't think I could do it. And I'm sure lots of people couldn't. You must be so motivated!
You can take student loans out for living expenses? How do you go about doing that? The places I have seen just want to know about my tuition costs and stuff.
