Hi Everyone, I am curious if anyone can point me in the right direction. My father was just diagnosed with Mantel cell lymphoma stage IV. Now I have visited many web sites about this type of cancer. What I am looking for are statistics as far as chemo goes. My father so far has declined having any chemo. He is 71 years old and has many problems that are affecting his health at this time. His spleen is 19cm in size, he has an AAA of 5.2cm, he is diabetic and had bypass 5 years ago and his heart is not real strong as they say. I understand his stance, but I just want to make sure that he has all the information he needs to make and informed decision. What I am looking for is what are his chances of remission, what kind of chemo drugs do they use for this particular cancer. I have heard that remission can happen but since it is in his bone marrow his chances are less. Now I am not asking anyone for advice just where I might find the information I am looking for. If you know of any links that I may visit it would be greatly appreciated. You see I am a certified medical assistant and a student practical nurse who will graduate with my associates degree this May so my parents look to me when they have questions. My parents have asked me to find out what I am able. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,

nd_mom,
I am so very sorry you lost your daddy. After reading this, I am crying about my own loss ~ a couple years ago. Being the only daughter of my dad, I can so relate. Bless you.
Know that he knew you loved him ~ still does. Those last precious words to him came naturally.........
God bless you in this time of grief and sorrow.
All i can say is {{{{{{{{HUGS }}}}}}}}.
The pain will ease in time but never truly go away. Having closure like you did, saying I love you will be the words you remember. Best wishes for the days ahead and passing NCLEX. You will be a stronge nurse for having lived this experience.
Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Your Dad was lucky to have a daughter like YOU!.

My dad went to meet Jesus and be with my brother Mike at 7:30 this morning. I am so sad
! My mom was right beside him talking him through it when he passed. She is doing okay, we are all going to miss him so much! I spoke with him on tuesday and I told him that when it got to be too much, I understood. Then we talked about him being ready to go and meet Jesus and all the loved ones that were going to be waiting for him. We also spoke about all the memories we share and how those memories will always be with us. Our last words to each other were I love you! I was his only girl and his baby, my heart is broke and the tears keep coming. I know that he is not suffering anymore and I am thankful for that. He is my father, a piece of me went with him when he left....
I am thankful for the life he gave me and the lessons he taught me, for with out him I would not have been me. I love you dad and I will miss you so very much!
Thank you Siri and NRSKarenRN for all your support and kind words. You both are truly a gift from God!
