MANE Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for everyone applying for the MANE Spring 2021 cohort! I will be applying to IHCC and Century College. What's everyone's composition scores?

In retrospect I don't think I needed to apply to as many, my score is between 12.13 and 12.6 depending on the school.  I think you probably only need to apply to multiple if you are below 12, but maybe a second wouldn't be a bad idea just to be safe.

If anyone is wondering how someone with a lower score does- I have a 11.2 with a 3.6 GPA and a 76 TEAS and am apply to century and arcc. I decided last minute to apply because I have the prerequisites and studied a few days for the test and took it today, LOL.

Best of luck to everyone!

Good luck! If you don't get in, you can always get in next semester too! I am nervous, but also know that this is my path if I don't have the chance to do it this Spring then I'll try again for Fall ?

@roseflush with a 13, you should definitely get in! That is a very high score.

To the people with higher TEAS scores- did you take A&P previously?

I got a 91.3 overall without taking it but I spent pretty much all my study time on A&P stuff, it was pretty much the only area I was having trouble with.

I watched all of CrashCourse and then a lot of Kahn Academy.  I probably spent 30 hours just learning A&P and only 5 hours on other sections.

Ended up improving my score on just the A&P questions from 55% on the practice test to 88% on my actual test.

I got a 79% on the TEAS without any AP, Chem, or Micro.  My biology was also over 10 yrs. old.

I honestly don't think I could have scored any higher than that without those science courses.

91.3 is a crazy high score for no AP!

I had A&P 1, but not two. I struggled a little bit with the stuff that's in A&P 2 because it was topics I hadn't touched on.

Hi everyone!

I applied to Century College with an 11.5 composite score. I received my Bachelor of Science degree this year and of course all the prerequisite classes that were required, are ones I took 4 years ago!  It’s not a great score but it’s not terrible in my opinion. When I emailed about their average acceptance composite score, they said it was around a 12.2! Which is crazy to me, but things could be different with COVID going on. The media does a great job at scaring future nurses so maybe not as many will apply this semester? Never know. Good luck to everyone and just know that no matter what happens, there is ALWAYS next semester to apply! ?

At least that's the average and not the minimum!  Did they mention the usual minimum?  I've seen from other threads it's somewhere around 11.5 but definitely varies by year and school.

I saw on a thread that it varies. Some years they let in students with an 11.2 and others it’s much higher. Just depends on who’s applying, I’m sure!

For Inver Hills and Century  I have a 3.5 GPA and scored a 76.7% on the TEAS. My GPA isn’t great since I took some classes 10 years ago. I also hope with Covid that less people are applying. I do have my bachelors degree in another major so I applied to St. Kates accelerated program as well. Seeing this forum makes me nervous that I won’t get in at one of the community colleges. ? Good luck to everyone!
