MANE Spring 2021

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for everyone applying for the MANE Spring 2021 cohort! I will be applying to IHCC and Century College. What's everyone's composition scores?

I am applying to 4 schools - Inver Hills, Century, North Hennepin, and Anoka Ramsey.

I'm not sure how the GPA calculates AP scores, does anybody know? I have an A in psych, but a 3 in bio and chem, and a 5 in english. Would that be counted as 2 A's, and 2 C's, or would it be a 4.0 leaving out the APs? I hope the latter, since I can't really change it now!

Taking my TEAS on Wednesday and studying like crazy! I woke up in the middle of the night last night because my brain was stuck on the different kinds of phagocyte - oof! It's a stressful process, so good luck to everybody else.

@drianu Good luck on your TEAS! I took it a few weeks ago and am taking it again to try and get the best score possible before applying! I might apply to all the MANE schools as well to increase my chances of starting in the Spring.

I have an 11.9 at both Century and Inver. I'm taking AP2 and Micro this semester to make the nursing program more doable. Anybody else complete these early?

Anybody else wondering I asked and it's a 3 on an AP test counts as a C, 4/B, 5/A.

I'm taking accelerated AP1 and 2 this semester, Micro, and ethics, and then I'll actually be done with all the generals ( I have a bachelors already, so that covered some of them also). Hoping it makes the rest of the program a little easier to handle.

Where are you taking accelerated? I looked everywhere for that!

St Paul College has a section of AP1 for the first 8 weeks of the semester followed by a section of AP2 for 8 weeks. Both meet Wednesday evenings.

I just noticed that. I took AP1 with Zak and he was great! You will enjoy it!

Does anyone know when we will be informed of acceptance/denial at either Century or Inver?

I think October 1st at Inver.

My composite score is an even 13. Before today I didn’t know the smart thing to do would be to apply to multiple schools. Thinking I may do that before the deadline... LOL

That’s a great score! I doubt you will have any issue with being admitted. I was going to do that too, but it seems like you have to be accepted into the school (ie: ARCC) before you can apply for the MANE program.

In retrospect I don't think I needed to apply to as many, my score is between 12.13 and 12.6 depending on the school.  I think you probably only need to apply to multiple if you are below 12, but maybe a second wouldn't be a bad idea just to be safe.
