Hey, I wanted to get a thread going for MANE program applicants for fall of 2019 to see what competitive level we are at this year. My TEAS score was 85.3 and my GPA is a 3.5 giving me a combined score of 12.3. I just submitted applications to Inver Hills (my home school), Metro State and Century college. I would love to stay at Inver since it is 10 minutes from my house, but will be pleased with any acceptance letters!! Let me know, it would be fun to figure out where the averages on scores are!!

Not sure if you saw my previous posts, but last year they took over 20 off the waitlist and the lowest admitted was an 11.51. So I think we both have a good chance! ?

Well congrats because you’re in! I got accepted with an 11.77 so you are 100% in:)

That is the score I got, and was accepted. Just waiting to hear back from Inver so i can send my decline. So I'm sure you are in!!!
I am 25 and live in Iowa (from Illinois). I got my Bachelors at Iowa State in Biology. I applied to all the schools in the MANE program (except I forgot about riverland). So with my first degree I cover all the non-nursing core classes. I was accepted to Normandale, Anoka, North Hennepin, Inver Hills, Metro, and (maybe- my mail comes tomorrow) Century. My goals are to live near the City, have easier access to concerts, and work as a bartender/server in the city. My boyfriend works in IT. I have literally no idea where to go because I am not from around there. We can live anywhere but we do have family in St. Paul/Woodbury (not a huge factor).
I am used to big schools and don't REALLY prefer online classes. I have a car to get around as well. I am already $30,000 in debt from my first degree and going for a second one means NO GRANTS?. So my priority is keeping a low budget but also good education. Most of the schools have very similar class sizes, tuition, etc so I have no idea where to pick. Where do you guys recommend I go?
OH AND I AM SO CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS FOR THE LAST THREE SEMESTERS! DO WE TRANSFER TO METRO OR LIKE DIFFERENT CAMPUSES? IS THE TUITION METRO PRICES OR WHERE WE STARTED AT?
Thanks everyone, and congrats on getting into your schools! I hope you get good news from Century!
I've attached the notes I've made to compare the schools

Hmmm, I left a long comment last night but it’s gone now! ? I’ll sum up what I wrote:
All of the colleges are relatively the same, cost wise. If you’re wanting to be close to the city, I would choose Normadale, Hennipen or Metro. All of the other school are too far out (for my preference).

I live in downtown Chicago River North and had the same problem! I ended up choosing to live in downtown St. Paul because the downtown Minneapolis is NOTHING like it is here! It seemed very empty at night (no big city feel/vibes). I'm a server, as well, so that was a big part of my deciding factor. I only applied to century and found that downtown St. Paul had a central transportation hub. I could easily get anywhere! And the apartment I found is on top of a grocery store so I can hibernate in the winter! ? You have a car though so maybe look into Uptown! If my bf and I had a car we'd be there. There's lots of life in that area! Best of luck!

I actually have your reply in an email not sure where it went on here. Thank you for the detailed breakdown!

That sounds like a pretty great location for you! I am actually thinking Normandale (south) or Anoka (north) are my top picks. Normandale is closer to hennepin for concerts and the campus looks beautiful. Anoka is in a pretty bumpin area it seems with some sort of light rail if I need it.
Century and Inver Hill are a bit out of the way for me.
Anyone know anything about North Hennepin?
