This topic is getting very old. We are faring as well as our female colleagues. What is your impression of how you expect us to fare? Better, because we are a minority so nursing schools and hospitals put out the red carpet and set aside positions for males? or worse, because it's a female profession, so female instructors and female nurses treat us like crap?
I'm a male and doing as well as any of the female nurses I know.
It's all about your skills, confidence, personality, and work ethic.
I don't think gender plays into it at all.
The only ones I've found who talk about being "male nurses" are either students or people completely outside of the medical field.
I am about to enter the nursing profession as a male nurse and I am curious to know how the males are faring. So fellow guys, and even females, talk to me.
Why do we always get people that assume that men struggle more in nursing than women? Men and women equally have the opportunity for career advancement, advanced degrees, and versatility. Both genders also have to deal with a very tight and competitive job market which can make breaking into the field tough for any new grad
