Malcolm X Nursing Spring 2021

Hey there! Is anyone here applying for Malcolm X ADN (nursing) program for Spring 2021? I am a bit nervous. My GPA is 3.0 and I am taking the TEAS soon and hopefully scoring >90 overall. How likely is it to get admitted? Has anyone been admitted with lower stats before? Thanks!

Hello guys. Has anyone completed their health asessment documents for castle branch? Is there a form for TDaP vaccine?

I completed all my health assessments, except for the varicella (I have to get a repeat series) since I wasn’t immune. The form for the TDaP vaccine is just the immunization history. 
 

Has anyone completed their background check results, but haven’t gotten an update from Malcolm X? I completed mine weeks ago but it still shows as incomplete.

I got 81% overall and 95.6% on reading! Is your medical documents and background check still marked incomplete? I completed mine as well and I am waiting on them to change it

You did great! My medical documents say incomplete. Everything else says complete. I emailed them yesterday saying that my TEAS score was available and it changed to complete later that day. Have you already taken a&p1, 2 and Microbiology?

You too! I hope they change it to complete soon. Does your application say “in progress” on the selective application website? My TEAS was also marked completed. I am currently taking A&P 1. Hbu?

Same, taking a&p1 . Yes it does say in progress. I feel like the medical documents still  says “incomplete” because we were told to leave two items on there incomplete. IDK.

Hi all!  I wish everyone luck with acceptance into the Spring '21 program.

I'm not applying until Fall of '21, but I was wondering if you all knew if the GPA req is based solely on your CCC GPA or if they calculate your GPA based off of all schools which you have attended.  I went to school several years ago and didn't take it serious at all, so I'm hoping that it's just based on your CCC GPA.

Hm yeah I am not sure either but I do hope it’s only ccc GPA

Same, LOL.  I'm going to reach out to them Monday & I'll update what I find out here.  

OAN-do you know how true the talk about admittance being a lottery system is?  Do you have any details to share?

Ooh, question again! Since you aren't immune to varicella does that disqualify you? I found that I only have partial immunity to Mumps and HepB and will need boosters. I'm not sure if it disqualifies me... the immunization form from CCC states:

"If titers show non-immune, vaccination series must be completed. Once completed, a repeat titer must be drawn 60 days after completion of the series to prove immunity. UPLOAD THE ACTUAL LAB RESULTS TO CASTLE BRANCH"

I'm waiting on my measles (fingers crossed that shows immunity!) but not sure if the fact that I am not immune to a few things will prevent my acceptance or not.
