Malcolm X College ADN Program - Fall 2025 Applicants: Let's Connect!

Updated:   Published

What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing issues with enrolling in specific nursing courses, particularly N151, due to seats being closed and unavailable for registration. Some members are experiencing frustration with the enrollment process, while others are speculating about additional class options being added in the future. There is also confusion about the registration process and whether permission codes are required for enrollment.

Hi everyone!

I'm applying to the ADN program at Malcolm X College for Fall 2025, and I thought it would be helpful to start a thread to connect with other students who are applying as well. I'm currently working on completing my medical requirements through CastleBranch and preparing to take the ATI TEAS exam soon. I'd love to hear where everyone else is in the process and if you have any tips or advice to share. I've also been wondering what factors really help candidates stand out during the admissions process. For example, does having healthcare experience—like working as a CNA or medical assistant—make a big difference in how applications are evaluated? Or, does being bilingual help strengthen your application and increase your chances of getting in?

If you've already applied or been accepted in the past, it would be great to hear what you think helped your application stand out. For those of you who are still working on your requirements, feel free to share what you've completed so far and how you're preparing for the TEAS exam.

Let's use this thread to support each other and share insights as we work through the application process. I'm excited to hear from everyone and hope we can all navigate this journey together. Good luck to all future nurses applying for Fall 2025!

Has anyone received a decision yet or does anyone know if they're still reviewing applications?

No not yet, still says viable candidate

I applied for both LPN and RN, it says Viable Candidate for both. I've heard the LPN program sends out acceptances first. Does anyone know if accepting it would affect getting offered a seat for the RN program? I'm manifesting getting an acceptance to either one at this point LOL, but I'm curious as to how that would work.

I have the same question. I just sent a message over to the nursing committee's email. I'll keep everyone posted if they respond.

Do you guys think they're going to make us wait until after the current semester is over for results? I feel like this has been a long wait. Almost two weeks and they didn't mention anything about extending the deadline... this is definitely anxiety inducing! I know they haven't sent out any offers because at least one person would've said it... I hope LOL😞

Hey guys!! This is what was said from the committee.

"Each application is evaluated on its own submissions as a separate process. Students are offered seats based on the admission requirements for each program. If you have applied for both you and IF you are offered both you will need to choose one and decline the other.”

Dr. Tracie

This puts you in a tough spot because they don't send out both offers at the same time. So, if you're hoping to get into the RN program but receive an offer for the LPN program first, you're essentially taking a gamble on whether they'll offer you a spot in the program you truly want.

Any updates?

Last semester they took forever to send out the offers. They claim they are sent 2 weeks after the application closes, but I know of some people who didn't get their offer until like 1 or 2 weeks before the new semester started.

At this point I'm just going to go up to the school and ask them if I got in or not 😂

WOW. That's crazy. From what I've read in these forums it seemed like they sent the offers out fairly quickly. I couldn't imagine finding out a week or two before classes start.

No fr! got my nerves all bad. I have PTSD from the last application cycle 🤣

Any updates? 🫠

Well no updates as far as the portal but from a close source inside of the Nursing department, they are saying they are waiting for grades to come in to see who will be kicked out the program. There were more applicants than they anticipated.
