Members are discussing issues with enrolling in specific nursing courses, particularly N151, due to seats being closed and unavailable for registration. Some members are experiencing frustration with the enrollment process, while others are speculating about additional class options being added in the future. There is also confusion about the registration process and whether permission codes are required for enrollment.
Hi everyone!
I'm applying to the ADN program at Malcolm X College for Fall 2025, and I thought it would be helpful to start a thread to connect with other students who are applying as well. I'm currently working on completing my medical requirements through CastleBranch and preparing to take the ATI TEAS exam soon. I'd love to hear where everyone else is in the process and if you have any tips or advice to share. I've also been wondering what factors really help candidates stand out during the admissions process. For example, does having healthcare experience—like working as a CNA or medical assistant—make a big difference in how applications are evaluated? Or, does being bilingual help strengthen your application and increase your chances of getting in?
If you've already applied or been accepted in the past, it would be great to hear what you think helped your application stand out. For those of you who are still working on your requirements, feel free to share what you've completed so far and how you're preparing for the TEAS exam.
Let's use this thread to support each other and share insights as we work through the application process. I'm excited to hear from everyone and hope we can all navigate this journey together. Good luck to all future nurses applying for Fall 2025!
Does anyone know how long the LPN program lasts? Is it one year, like fall, Spring, and Summer? Or is it Fall, Spring, or Summer off, and then you finish in fall? Also, after you're done with the LPN program, can you apply in your last semester for an RN to start that Spring, or do you have to wait one semester and then apply? So it's three years in total if you bridge over.

Hi! I believe depending on the semester you apply for it goes fall, Spring and Summer or Spring, Summer and fall. After you're done with your lpn and receive your license you can bridge over and that is also 3 semester so it's almost equivalent to going through the ADN program.
Hi everyone! I'm also applying for the Fall 2025 semester. I initially tried applying for the Spring 2025 but my documents were never updated via portal and therefore had my application marked as incomplete. Since I had everything completed this semester I applied as soon as the application came up and was marked as a viable candidate about a week later. I check the status literally everyday LOL. I'm scared of missing their final decision but they should be sending out offers sometime this month. For the Spring 2025 forum I saw someone say they never got an email and only realized they were accepted through the selective application site. Once accepted you have to accept the offer or deny it, there is a deadline to do so though, so I would check every so often just in case you don't miss it. Good luck to everyone!

That's so good! I'm in the same boat. I had everything completed last semester so this time applying was a breeze. I hope we all get in! the whole process from completing prereqs and everything else has been very much something LOL. I stalk that application site downnnn!
Hi everyone,
I am currently awaiting an acceptance letter into the program as well. I have applied for both the LPN and ADN program, and as of right now, I am listed as a Viable Candidate for both programs since March 10. The deadline to apply is April 21st, and from my understanding priority is giving to students who complete the packet requirements, all medical/castle branch, and TEAS exam 2 weeks before the deadline. I am currently taking Chem 121, and will take the co-requites this Summer. Hopefully Micro and AP226. Has anyone received a Viable candidate status, or know how many applicants are accepted per semester? I also took the TEAS exam twice, I wish I had gotten a higher score, but it's okay. I used Mometrix online study packet, as well as YouTube videos such as, Nurse Cheung, and Smart Nurse Edition. They really helped me score better the second time around. Good Luck to Everyone! We got this!

Just checking in to see if you guys are as anxious as I am 😅 was everyone able to get their applications to viable candidate?
I just checked my portal, and it still says Viable candidate since 3/10. I am a bit nervous, but I have hope that I will get a seat. Did you apply for both programs?

Yes I applied to both programs. Leaning more toward the ADN program, but any acceptance will do! LOL I just need to get in the door. Hopefully we'll hear back within the next two weeks. From looking at other threads, that seems like the timeframe after the application closes.

Yes I agree, an acceptance seat to either program is fine with me. I am checking my portal everyday LOL.

Have you completed all the prerequisites for LPN? Even Bio 120?
Mine shows viable candidate for both LPN and ADN
