Members are discussing issues with enrolling in specific nursing courses, particularly N151, due to seats being closed and unavailable for registration. Some members are experiencing frustration with the enrollment process, while others are speculating about additional class options being added in the future. There is also confusion about the registration process and whether permission codes are required for enrollment.
Hi everyone!
I'm applying to the ADN program at Malcolm X College for Fall 2025, and I thought it would be helpful to start a thread to connect with other students who are applying as well. I'm currently working on completing my medical requirements through CastleBranch and preparing to take the ATI TEAS exam soon. I'd love to hear where everyone else is in the process and if you have any tips or advice to share. I've also been wondering what factors really help candidates stand out during the admissions process. For example, does having healthcare experience—like working as a CNA or medical assistant—make a big difference in how applications are evaluated? Or, does being bilingual help strengthen your application and increase your chances of getting in?
If you've already applied or been accepted in the past, it would be great to hear what you think helped your application stand out. For those of you who are still working on your requirements, feel free to share what you've completed so far and how you're preparing for the TEAS exam.
Let's use this thread to support each other and share insights as we work through the application process. I'm excited to hear from everyone and hope we can all navigate this journey together. Good luck to all future nurses applying for Fall 2025!

I just received an email back from the committee, it was kind of vague but basically I was told that they strategically offered people seats who have fully met the entry requirements. I fully met the entry requirements but have not been offered the RN seat as of yet. So I'm highly confused about that statement but anywho, I would wait a couple of days to see if they offer you the RN seat if that is really what you want. She said you would need accept one and decline the other if offered both seats. If you have already accepted the PN seat and your offered the RN in a couple of days; email the department committee to let them know that you want to decline the PN and just accept the RN seat if that is what you desire.
I was able to. Have you all completed the coreqs like 226/227 and micro? I had 226 done this semester but not 227 but I just registered for it for the Summer and they gave me a message confirmation about me satisfying my prereqs. I got into LPN program but it might be like that for you guys in the ADN.

I just got into the LPN program as well. How did you register for classes? Which classes do you register for?

You register for them like any other class. I'm taking 227 over the Summer. The fall our first semester classes are 150, 151, and 152. Please look at the time and dates 150 and 151 are our 8 week classes and they must line up with the 152 class which is the full 16 weeks.

Weird.. IDK why you guys aren't able to register
I got into the ADN program, looking forward to seeing you all!
I haven't tried registering because I was under the impression we would receive more instructions...any possibility that the spots taken are people who had to re-take or people that deferred their admission to Fall 2025? Just a guess. Hopefully we get more info soon!

I think you should just accept it LOL better to bridge to RN than to wait for the offer and miss your beat 😁
