Makeup under mask

Published

I'm looking for a good medium to full coverage foundation that will stay put under a mask all day. Before people jump on me for being vain, I have a skin condition that I would like to keep covered. Patients and families will see me without a mask, and we all know appearance is important in making a positive impression. Plus I just feel better about myself that way. Right now I use clinique a stay-matte but it's gone after awhile under a mask.

Any reviews on Smashbox foundations? I did stop by sephora yesterday but the girls working were not at all helpful... So I just wandered but ended up in a department store where I could actually get some help. Usually I love sephora but I'd never been any actually looking for help. Now I know my store is only good if you know what your looking for.

Smashbox Studio Skin lasts a long time but the shades are too peachy on me. They may work for you since you said you're on the cooler side. Their BB cream is decent for a BB cream and they have a decent shade range.

Estée Lauder makes a full coverage foundation that's been around for a long time. It has a cult following......I believe it is called maximum cover. It comes in a tube, there aren't a lot of colors but if you can find one that works for you it provides fantastic coverage. Good luck!

This just came in the mail today...thanks for the tip! Looked ok on my jawline but I haven't looked at it in the natural light yet. I have red acne marks all over so I'm really rooting for this one!

I always had a problem with my makeup "sliding off" until going into Sephora and finding Lancomes Teint Idole Ultra 24hour foundation. This stuff is amazing! Goes on great and stays on all day. I pair it with a primer from Bare Minerals and have been very happy...

I second the lancome teint idole!! Lasts all night for me, is full coverage for my zits, blends perfectly with my skin tone. I use it over the Lancomr La Base Pro pore primer and it doesn't budge and absorbs grease. Amazing!!

So I went back by sephora today since I happened to be driving by, and apparently the weekend is when they bump up the customer service! And since they were so willing to help, I went a little crazy figuring I better get all the samples I could while I was there í ½í¸›. They were super nice about it, so I left with MUFE HD, Kat Von D, Tarte Amazonian Clay, clinique 2 in 1 and one other I can't think of off the top of my head. I tried the Lancôme but it gave me a rash right away. I'll be testing them all out!

For primer, what should it feel like? I tried the clinique today, but it almost felt dry on my skin and kind of caked into my pores. I think I was expecting it to feel more slippery. I've got some samples from previous orders that I never tried so I need to dig those out.

My goddaughter worked and Sephora and she always warned me about going in for any help...on rare occasions will you get anyone who knows enough about the products and color matching to get any really help.

Move tried all the primers and moisturizers to help keep my makeup on my face as opposed to my sleeve (when wiping sweat off my forward lol) or a mask and I keep reverting back to my usually makeup routine. I found that primers really didn't help me much. What did help was finding a really good cleansing and prep routine. I used to use obagi for years for cystic acne but found it made my skin look blotchy. Once I switched to paulas choice my skin has been more even with less breakouts...I've even been able to cut back on how much makeup I've had to apply! When I did use primers I found benefit worked best on me.

I've also tried out a bunch of different foundations to see which ones would last a full 12-14 hr shift. My favorites were Mac prolongwear waterproof foundation and kat Von d lock it. Mac was easy to apply but would fade a bit towards the end of my shift. Kat Von d (my holy grail so far) is thicker and a bit harder to apply...it dries fast so you gotta work quick or else it looks patchy. I get some transfer onto a mask with both but not as much with kat Von d. Sorry for the rant and hope this helps. í ½í¸‰

What about having a surgical mask with a liner that prevents make up from smudging. I think adding a liner that doesn't compromise the properties of the surgical mask and still does not take off ALL your make up is genius!
