Hi!
I am finishing up some pre-req's at CUNY Hunter and I need to declare a major because of my credits and financial aid reasons. They do not have a basic liberal arts major so I am trying to decide which one to choose.
The nursing department said to declare psychology but they have a major requirement in which I have not finished yet so they will not approve my application.
What has everybody else majored in prior to nursing?
Thanks - Tracy

psychology and it has helped me tremendously! I am so glad I picked Psych and Sociology as my undergrad major...now when we write papers in APA format or we have classes that are particulary abstract, it doesnt seem to be as hard for me as some other students who didnt have much practice at prof writing in undergrad...all majors are good though, you might as well pick something that you like! Good LUck:)

I'm a little confused,my major right now is prenursing, that's what it says on all of my paperwork. Am I missing something? thanks...
No, you're not missing anything. Some schools, mine included, list prenursing as your major because you aren't officially in the nursing program until you finish your prereqs and actually start your nursing classes. Its kind of like being a pre-med student (you're planning to go to medical school, so you're following a program of pre-reqs to get you there.) I wouldn't worry about it. :) I posted that I was a psych major because that's what I was pursuing before I decided to go into nursing.
Thanks, I was assuming it was something like that but wanted to be sure! :smackingf
