U.S.A. Georgia

Hello everyone,

Anyone currently or appling to the Macon State nursing program? I just took my TEAS today and I cried when I got my score. I only got a 71.8. I know that doesn't make me stand out from the rest of the students. There is no min. score so I don't know what they are looking for. I have an interview next Friday. Anyone knows if this is routine or are they just doing this now? What questions can I expect?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been accepted into the BSN program. Have you heard anything yet?

Congrats on being accepted!!! Good luck in the program :)

I was thinking of applying to the bachelors program for nursing at macon state and i just wanted to know if anyone knew what i need to make on the NET?? I only have a 3.1 GPA. Do you think there is any chance for me to get in the program?

Hi,

I just applied for the nursing program from fall 2010 and Im extremely nervous about getting accepted. I am only going for the associates degree for now. I was wondering why MSC only interviews the BSN applicants?

Actually, this year they are not doing an interview process for the BSN program. Does anyone know what all they look at for selection? I know they look at your GPA, TEAS score, and "criminal history," but are there any other factors? I heard someone say that they also look at SAT scores, which I hope is not true.

Also, every year the TEAS (Nursing Test) varies. Last year the national average was around a 75; however, this year the national average was a 62. I do know that you have to make above the average to be considered.

Hey, I applied to Macon state both the BSN and ADN programs, I made a 70.5 on my TEAS :/ not that great.. how I saw the average was a 62 also though so that made me feel a little better.. Do you know how others did? I believe they also look at how many pre reqs you have completed. They did say on the website that they can look at SAT scores and high school gpa. Although I really don't think that is where their focus is going to be.

I really hope it doesn't come down to High School GPA because no one puts 100% into High School. The highest I have heard anyone making this year is an 86. I have 3 other friends who made low B's on the test too. I think most people made C's this year because it was so much harder, especially with that science section.

Yeah the science part I studied a lot for because I was paranoid about that part, I didn't do too bad on it I actually did worse on the grammar, I thought it was going to be super easy, guess I didn't realize how long it had been since I had taken a class that taught grammar. I really doubt that they will look at high school gpa, I agree, no one really cares in high school about their grades. Do you know how many people applied this year? One of the nursing people in the office told me last year it was like 340 or something.

I heard that around 300 students took the TEAS but I'm not sure how many of those 300 actually applied for the BSN program. Have you heard from others what they made on the test?

I've heard of low 80's and a 62, but thats only a couple of people that i have heard from, I mean it said the average was a 62 i think I just dont know how many people did better than that.

Yeah, I now know of 3 girls that all got 82's, but I only got a 75. The person who I said made an 86, actually made an 82. So, I haven't heard of anyone making over an 82 yet.

I just learned that the selection process is based off of points. They use your SSN as your "name" to avoid any discrimination and to keep everything completely fair. You get so many points for your GPA and TEAS score and that's how they rank you. From there, they chose their 50 and then 15 alternates. I also heard that they made their selection last Thursday, and that we should hear something within the next week to two weeks.

I actually got a 68 on the net, and was accepted. my gpa was 3.3 with an a in a&p. I did almost perfect on the english part it was the math part that killed me-I didnt review beforehand! but I still got in:)
