Did MOM do the TB tests there? I took Micro in the summer last year and it was rough because there was so much material, but the lab was a lot of fun!

Congrats!!! I, too, got into the BSN program at Macon State for the Fall of 2010!!! Are you taking NURS3200 this summer? I just bought the book for it today and paid my reservation fee!

Yeah, I now know of 3 girls that all got 82's, but I only got a 75. The person who I said made an 86, actually made an 82. So, I haven't heard of anyone making over an 82 yet. I just learned that the selection process is based off of points. They use your SSN as your "name" to avoid any discrimination and to keep everything completely fair. You get so many points for your GPA and TEAS score and that's how they rank you. From there, they chose their 50 and then 15 alternates. I also heard that they made their selection last Thursday, and that we should hear something within the next week to two weeks.

I heard that around 300 students took the TEAS but I'm not sure how many of those 300 actually applied for the BSN program. Have you heard from others what they made on the test?

I really hope it doesn't come down to High School GPA because no one puts 100% into High School. The highest I have heard anyone making this year is an 86. I have 3 other friends who made low B's on the test too. I think most people made C's this year because it was so much harder, especially with that science section.

Hey! Well the BSN program at MSC is open in the Fall, so you can only apply once a year. You can apply to the ASN program in the Fall and the Spring. You have to take the TEAS and make at least the national average to be considered. Normally, there are around 300 people taking the TEAS in the Fall; however, that doesn't mean they are all applying for the BSN program. This year, the national average was a 62. Last year though, the national average was a 76. So, it varies each year. Unlike the NET, the TEAS has a huge Science portion on it and it is literally "Middle School" science. But don't worry, no one does good in that section: the national average for the Science section was a 40 something this year. Last year, MSC narrowed down the applicants to 100 students and those students went through an interview process. After that, 50 were left for the BSN program. This year, they are not doing an interview stage. They are basing their choices off of overall GPA, "science and math" GPA, TEAS score, as well as background checks. I hope this helps!

Actually, this year they are not doing an interview process for the BSN program. Does anyone know what all they look at for selection? I know they look at your GPA, TEAS score, and "criminal history," but are there any other factors? I heard someone say that they also look at SAT scores, which I hope is not true. Also, every year the TEAS (Nursing Test) varies. Last year the national average was around a 75; however, this year the national average was a 62. I do know that you have to make above the average to be considered.
