Macon State BSN Fall 2011

Published

Anyone out there applied for MSC BSN program for Fall 2011? I was wondering what the timeline is for receiving acceptances. From previous posts on this site, it looks like we may not hear anything until April, even though registration begins in March (I think). Does anyone know how many applicants versus how many acceptances they have each year?

Also, are there any MSC students currently in the BSN program? I am interested to know what you think of the program. Finally, I was wondering how difficult it will be to work while enrolled. I have a daytime job with flexible hours (~25 hours per week). I currently work M-F and plan to continue the position while in the program, but will have the option of changing days/hours around, if needed. How time-consuming is the BSN program, including clinicals and labs? Will it be possible to work 20-25 hours while attending?

I'm so sorry dkwmom to hear you didn't get accepted! I know the frustration!! But its okay we can just reapply together in the spring!! Hope you did well on your finals! My Chemistry final went really well and now I am ready to RELAX!:D

ashleynicole36, I think they look at cumulative gpa because when I first met with my adviser, she said they look at everything from old SAT scores, gpa, teas exam, and final grades in your prereqs.

Lvance7, thanks for the encouragement. I took my ap1 lecture final last night and I feel great about it, my ap1 lab final isn't until Tuesday so I'm gonna relax for a little while then get back to studying.:D This was a really long semester and I'm glad that its finally coming to an end.

I got my rejection letter. So maybe us who didn't get accepted will wnd up in the same class. The wait begins again

I'm sorry dkwmom. You have a great attitude and that will take you as far in your profession and your life as you choose to go! :)

Check with the office-- I don't know if they offer the programs in the same location for spring (In the past, they have switched campuses to Warner Robbins, if I remember correctly). Some of you applying may think that's even more convenient.

Sharye, I must have missed your post-- I'm sorry! It seems that so many people have been rejected!! It is so sad that they do not interview and get to know all the candidates on a personal level. Everyone on this post is so articulate and enthusiastic-- just what they need in the profession. Make sure to re-apply!!

I got a reapply letter today. Rejection is such a negative word. So maybe all of us that were informed to reapply will be in the same program. Don't stress! :coollook:

I'm so sorry Sharye!! But don't give up hope! We can reapply in the spring! And meet with your adviser and see if she can give any insight and I will let you guys know what mine says!

Thanks. Sounds like a plan. Keep us updated!

Sharye, sorry to hear that. Yes, hopefully we will all be in the class. To everyone who got accepted, please keep us updated on how its going in the program.

So I talked to my adviser yesterday morning and she gave me some uplifting news. I asked her what I could do to improve my chances on getting in and if she could tell me where I fell on the spectrum of getting in, was I waaay on the bottom or was I close to the cut off?? She told me in my folder they had not written down my "score" for the BSN but for the ASN I was only two points away from getting in. And she felt I had a good shot for spring and was very encouraging and told me not to give up. She told me to do my best to bring up my TEAS score which this past time was a 77 and that she thought that would help. So fingers crossed and having some faith restored i'm going to study like crazy to get that score up as well as apply to as many school as I can that start in the spring!! So for everyone who didn't get in meeting with your advisers is definitely a huge help and hopefully we can all be together this spring!! :yelclap:

Thanks for the information Lvance7. Hopefully we will all see each other in the Spring program!!!:D

Question... Do you have to re take the TEAS everytime you apply or can you use the same scores?
