Macomb Community College 2016

Published

Hello everyone!!! Just submitted my application, have taken my HESI, all prerequisites are finished, now the waiting game begins. I was looking for people who were also on this journey.

Yeah, I wasn't very happy with myself! It is such an easy class & I like bombed it í ½í¹„ If I retake it would they look at the newest grade or an average of the two?

And okay!! I will definitely do that. Is there a ton of a&p questions? & for the math part is it just basic conversions? Sorry for all of the questions! Most of my friends go to OCC & I heard their HESI test is pretty different than ours. Not sure if that's true or not though, lol.

Thank you by the way! I truly appreciate it :)

If you retake it, they'll only look at the more recent grade. There's actually fewer A/P questions than the other sections. I think all the other sections had 55 questions and anatomy only had like 30. The math is addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, conversions, and some minor algebra. No problem.

Hmm, maybe I'll just retake it this fall if it will help with my chances!

But awesome, that makes me happy lol! I just don't want to go in blind ya know. Really hoping to get in for next year!! It's crazy how competitive this program is.

Anatomy and physiology I had 25 questions last year :)[ QUOTE=AnonymousMi;9049606]If you retake it, they'll only look at the more recent grade. Lol, I hope I have 25 questions!! How long did you guys study for? I'm starting to study now little by little, even though I don't plan to take the HESI until November. Lol.

That's how I did it, studied over a long period of time.

I did AP part less than 10 minutes, but my reading comp. and vocabulary was horrible. English is not my 1st language lol :). I am 8th alternate for this year. I hope I will get in.

Any tips or heads up you guys can give me?!

and good luck!! I hope you get in :)

Just came from alternate orientation. Two students dropped out of 160. So alternate list has moved little bit :)

Also what would be the best study method for the HESI? I'm going to buy the study guide from MCC today. Just wondering if there was anything else I should know or should study from, etc. I'm psyching myself out lol.

All I used was the study guide. I started studying hardcore about a month before the program. Know every single thing in that book except the A&P portion. The A&P was so broad there is no way to know what they will ask. Don't stress it too much, it honestly was not that bad.

Note: not everything in the book. Just grammar, vocab, reading, and math. Biology, chemistry, and physics aren't on macomb's version of the HESI.

Do you guys know any alternate students for 2016.
