Hello everyone!!! Just submitted my application, have taken my HESI, all prerequisites are finished, now the waiting game begins. I was looking for people who were also on this journey.
Congratsss knew u would get called it was just the matter of playing the waiting game.... Also i find it amazing how many alternatives have already been called like i said last year the list didnt move for a couple of months ...at this rate i think the top 20 alternatives will make it ... Goes to show that everything depends on who u apply with
Hello there bagajos.... See that u are applying and i jist wanted to give u my advice on some of the topics u asked about...
1.HESI-get the review book and study study study! The book is excellent for everything besides the ANP.. know how to convert simple meassurements . add divide subtract multiply fractions. Decimals percentagess know how to do every problem in the book ... Reading comorehension is exactly that reading a story and answering questions about it.. Vocab just make sure u know and understand every word in the book
..grammar i personally felt was pretty easy ... Most of it u wilk know off the top of your head

Also what would be the best study method for the HESI? I'm going to buy the study guide from MCC today. Just wondering if there was anything else I should know or should study from, etc. I'm psyching myself out lol.
As far as the anp part... The book is no help ... U have to just make sure you know your ANP from class.. IF U truely got a A in the clasms it will be a piece of cake ... I took the hesi 2x ... First time 30 questions aecond time 25 questions .... Dont let that fool u tho because the questions are still worth the same points... Giving your gpa you could prob get as low as a 82\84 and still make the program ... Good luck on your future sucess and we are here if u need us
Hey everyone,
I was also accepted into the nursing program with a 3.714 GPA and a 94 on my HESI test! My grades for the core classes are as followed: 1. Intro to nursing- (B)... 2. Pathogenic Microbiology- (A).....3. Anatomy and Physiology- (A-)... 4. English 1210- (A-)... The only class that really hurt my GPA was Intro to nursing because the teacher I had was not very "fair" in grading. I was on the wait list to get into the class and I was finally notified that there was a spot open for me the day after the class started, so points were deducted from my grade because I missed the first day of class when I really wasn't even considered a student in her class until after the class officially began. And then, about half way through the 8 week class, I came down with pink eye so she sent me home and then docked points from my grade because I went home. I was very proud of the A- I received in Anatomy and physiology because I worked so hard to fall at least in the A range. As for English 1210, I took that class my very first year of college (6 years ago) as a summer course so I didn't take that class as seriously as I should have.
I cannot wait to find out my start date and my ranking! Does anyone happen to know when they will be sending out letters with our start dates?
-Also, I attended the mandatory orientation and I listened closely to the due dates that she gave; however, towards the end of orientation she corrected herself on a couple of the due dates. I already submitted my background check (which came back clear ) and I already completed psychology 1010, nutrition, as well as ethics, but I'm curious as to what the due dates are for the following:
*Vaccinations
*BLS training (basic life support)
*Drug test
*TB test
*as well as anything else I am forgetting, if anything.
