Macomb community college "Hesi" info

U.S.A. Michigan

Hello, anyone

I am planning on taking the hesi test next year, fall 2011. Can anyone recommend me tools to study besides the hesi book, or is the hesi book all I need to prepare? Is the information that is in the hesi book really relevant to the actual hesi test? How can I study for household measurements? In your opinion, what section of the hesi test was the hardest? This year MCC is only accepting the following three classes to be add to your hesi score:

A&P, english 1180 or 1210, and BIOL 2400 or BIOL 2730. In these classes I received a B+ in A&P, B in english, and a B in BIOL 2400. Do you think I have a chance to get into the nursing program, if I get an A on the hesi or a high B? I feel so pressured.

Thanks for your time and answers,

Jaslene

I used the HESI study guide as my only resource and I got a 95 on it. I did not have to take the A&P section though, since I took it before they changed the requirements. I found the reading section to be the hardest because you can't really study for it.

Thank you for your reply.

Hey, I bought the HESI Exam Book, and its been pretty helpful so far. I also plan on taking the HESI Exam this fall. I would just study from the HESI Exam book. Thats the best way to go to me. I plan on taking the pathogenic microbiology next semester. Is there any adive you can give me?

Hi, thanks for your response. Sorry that it took me so long to write back. The best advice that I can give you is to study, study, and study more. Keep up with the lab work and make sure that you can recognize your bacteria. Have you taken anatomy and physiology? If so, when and what was your grade and who was your teacher (the first letter of your instructor)? How are you studying for the household measurement for the hesi?

Jaslene

I'm going to be honest about something. In high school, I never was the type of student that studied. Now that I need to, I don't really know how except from what I read. I also procrastinat from time to time. but, these are the things that I need to work on. But, I'm improving slowly but surely. No, I haven't taken anatomy and physiology yet. But, I plan on taking either pathogenic microbiology or anatomy and physiology. I didn't know that I had to know household measurement.

Did you even sign up yet for the hesi? Because this fall hesi has already ended. Do you know about the hesi information at all? You can't be taking the hesi this fall, if you haven't completed these two classes.

No, I haven't signed up for HESI Eam yet. I'm waiting on the 2011 packet to come out so I can sign up. I know about the HESI Exam. I rad the information from the website and the HESI Exam 2010 year. Is there something that you think I should know? I plan on having my pre reqs completed by the deadline.

I thought that one could take the HESI even without having completed the pre-reqs?

Your right, Ms Pebbles. I can still take the HESI Exam if I don't have my pre reqs completed. but, I have to have them completed to be considered for the nursing program.

Whew! That's a relief, otherwise it would've put a snag in my time line! (hoping to start NS in 2011)

I'm sorry, but what do you mean by NS?
