Macomb Community College Nursing 2014

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Let's share our experiences !!! I just wanted to start a page for those who are getting ready for Macomb Nursing program 2014.

I actually applied this year(2013) for the first time. Unfortunately I was't accepted, but I am hoping to be accepted next year! I want to share my experiences, and meet people who are also applying.

I have completed all the prerequisites, and I plan to retake the Hesi test sometime this year.

Welcome!

:)

Yeah, I used an online GPA calculator to see what my possible outcomes were, that's where I came up with the 3.7. And I definitely checked the transferability from WSU to MCC, lol, I didn't want to give myself any more stress. WSU has this awesome transfer equivalency thing to see what transfers and what doesn't.

To be honest, I was kind of expecting intro to be easy (based off what my friend had said), but my microbio class is what I'm more worried about. My fiancé also took microbio at WSU and he said the workload was very demanding (lab and lecture). My intro class doesn't start until October, so I'm hoping I'll get a handle on microbio by then to get ready for the intro class.

I'm happy that my last days of the semester will be December 13th which will give me a little over three weeks to prepare for the HESI. I do plan to do a little bit of studying throughout the semester but definitely will focus on it after classes end.

I am retaking micro bc I got a B last fall, I did not want to retake, but I will do it. Yes intro is harder than it looks. I got a very fun teacher , so it wasn't so bad. I am also taking he hesi in jan so I have plenty of time to review

Well good luck to you both! A couple weeks is more than enough time to study for the Hesi! You will be fine. As far as intro goes just make sure to do the readings even if you don't have time. It is all memorization of history, dates, and people.

Memorization is more of my thing so hopefully I'll be okay in the class.

Thank you both for your information and help!

Anytime!!!!

After failing out of one nursing program, I will be applying in Feb for the nursing program at Macomb. Hopefully, all my classes will transfer.

I am looking to connect with people so we don't have to go through this alone. I am schedule to take the HESI on Dec 4th. And, the Intro class starts next week.

Nice! I trying to connect with people as well!! Welcome!

I took intro last fall, this fall I'm retaking micro because last year I got a B , so I'm trying to get an A this time around.

Where were u before?

Thanks for starting this thread! I am applying for 2014 nursing program at MCC, too. Just finished my last class so I have my 4 prereq's done! Worked my fanny off and got a 4.0 in all 4 classes while working full time. Thank goodness for Miss Clairol to cover the grey hair! Got 95 on HESI. Hoping this is enough to get into August class. I so desperately want to quit my job! For those of you taking the HESI soon, don't get nerved up over it. I studied the book from the bookstore for about 2 weeks and was able to do pretty well. It's really a lot of common sense. The A & P section is what I was freaking out about and I ended up only getting 1 wrong. Don't work yourselves up, it's really not bad at all. :)

Good luck on your new adventure! I loved the Intro class. I had -------- a nurse practitioner, who taught the class. It was a really easy class. I got around 114% final grade. Just need to memorize some dates and names. You'll do just fine!

I had pathogenic micro (2730) last semester and it was a ton of work! It was a great experience. I had ------------------- for 2730. He is a fantastic professor. Switch to him if you can. The Intro class is very easy, all you have to do is memorize names and dates. I had ---------------- for this class. Super nice and super easy! You will do great, don't get stressed out.

You are just fine, a August start for sure good job, I am happy for you! ;);)

I need an A in a micro that I'll be a 4.0 too ( hopefully everything is going to be alright! I'm retaking the hesi too, because last time my score wast good at all :(

Well again, welcome! Mcc Nursing students of 2014

I hope to get a nice circle of people going here :)

I won't mention the other program but I will say it was hard as (you know what) and it was a private college in Clinton Township.
