Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone has registered to take their HESI in the fall and are planning to apply to Macomb's nursing program for the 2013 admission cycle!?

Let me know!

Deedee I'll have to invite you by email or you'll have to find me or find the group and make a request, I can't find your name on Facebook.

@LindzKay we have the same composite score of 94 (3.84-92) going for my ranking tomorrow. I wonder how the order of ties are determined.

If people have psych and nutrition done i could see them starting first because it says you need them done by the first semester of nursing courses. I have everythig done except gym im taking that this summer. So maybe your start date doesnt just depend on your rank number. Oh well we are all in guys!!! What a great feeling :)

Didn't think about that, the other prereqs. I should fall somewhere between 50 and 55 based solely on my scores, but I have all the prereq classes (Psych/Nutrition/PHED/Philosophy/etc) done, so maybe if my rank is higher we can figure they take that into account when ranking.

Unless of course they also take into account previous academic records, in which case I'll be #155, lol. But seriously.

Yea i never thought about it. I knew certain pre reqs had to be completed by certain points of the program but idk if it depends on start dates. I just planned to have everything done and im glad i do! :)

Hi. Just heard about allnurses from a friend. Congrats to everyone who got in! I just left enrollment and i am ranked #7 so from what I understand that means I will start in August. Just hoping to meet some people who are in the program too.[/quote']

What were your stats if you don't mind sharing? I'm curious because I'm 8th with a 4.0 and 94, so that must mean at least 7 people got higher than a 94, but logically there would have to be some ties in there...

I had a GPA of 3.9688 and a 95 on my hesi. They didn't say I was tied with anyone, just said that I was number 7. I am so happy to be in!

fyi: anyone who is planning on going to the enrollment office today to get your rank - they are closing at noon today.

I called yesterday & inquired about the same thing. They said there is no "formula" to figure out your scores. The ranking is all strictly computer based. For example, before calling I calculated my scores against someone who had a lower gpa but higher HESI and their score was lower than mine, and they're higher up on the list, but their HESI score was significantly higher than mine. I don't think their making mistakes with ranking, as it's computer based & they have no control over it. I'm sure many ppl will inquire about this particular issue at orientation, so they'll be able to give you a more thorough answer, but this is just what I've been told and is able to share.

What was you composite score?

to determine the ranking score: multiply the gpa by 25 then divide by 2

example 3.84*25=96 now divide 96 by 2 96/2= 48

now divide hesi score by 2

example 89 hesi 89/2= 44.5

now add 48 +44.5 and your ranking score is 92.5

so look at a lower gpa and higher hesi

gpa 3.71 3.71*25= 92.75 92.75/2= 46.375

hesi 94 94/2=47

add 46.375+47= ranking score 93.375

in the second example someone with a lower gpa, but a higher hesi score has a higher ranking score, you just have to do the math using the formula above.

Keep in mind, that although the computer does the calculation, the computer uses a formula to derive the answer. Think of it like a calculator, you input 2+2 and it gives you 4, well, it gave you 4 based on the equation (formula) that you input, you did not turn on the calculator and it gave you 4 out of thin air, you know. I hope this helps.

What was you composite score?

It was 86.96

What was you composite score?
