Macomb Community College 2021 nursing cycle

Published

Hi all! I noticed that we don't yet have a forum for prospective nursing students for Macomb Community College's 2021 application season. Hopefully this can be a place for all of us to talk about the program, provide study / testing tips, and get to know each other virtually before the program begins.

@KayD808 Good luck! One word of advice: use the bathroom beforehand. I thought were were supposed to get a break between the math and science sections, but I was never offered one.

Definitely use the bathroom - I wasn’t offered either. Good luck!

@Kembowchemistry I wondered if it was just me! It actually really made me angry because by the time I reached the English section, I had to use it so badly that I rushed through that section. Naturally, it ended up being my worst score out of the four. Still salty about it.

This board got very quiet all of a sudden. I hope that's not because of low scores on the TEAS. How did everyone do?

I’m wondering how’s the application looking like this year.  Best of luck to everyone

@Kembowchemistry @Katiek414 The waiting is so hard! I can't believe we have three whole months until we find out. Sending good vibes to everyone on this board. Here's hoping the pool is a bit smaller this year.

I'm not sure who might need to hear this - but if any of you are 25+ AND do not have a prior degree (Associates or Bachelor's), look into the new bipartisan "Michigan Reconnect" law recently signed by Governor Whitmer.

It offers 100% tuition coverage if you meet these conditions - NO income requirements. I never qualify for any of this stuff because I'm married and our joint income is usually too high, so I'm beyond thankful for this program.

TLDR: I'm 36 and I just found out that my nursing tuition is going to be covered by the state thanks to this law and I just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case they qualify.

The letters just got sent out yesterday, we should be receiving them by next week, good luck everyone!
