Any problems or lack of software for you mac people while in Nursing school? I heard some schools are requiring PDAs and they usually sync better with PCs.
I'm bored while at my old job waiting for nursing school to start.
Veggie - the OP software you need to open older CD roms, like the ones that come with textbooks - takes about 30 seconds to upload from your system discs. Then, you can open any old CD Rom in the Mac Classics environment.
You can also assign the forward delete feature to any one key you want. It is easy - you just have to download a software program - there are lots of free or very cheap ones available - that allows you to reprogram your keyboard and add a forward delete. All in all, these changes take about 2 minutes or less and you've fixed any problems with your mac. If you need help, PM me.
I don't know a single person who was a PC user and has gotten a Mac and looked back. They only mac haters are those who have actually never used one. Seriously.

I had a mac before..The thing about it, almost all colleges have a PC in their computer rooms and not a MAC..You can ALWAYS find a pc in any college but you cannot always find a MAC..Case, in point, if you are doing some work at home with a MAC and you need to like do something at school and their computer room does not have a MAc then you are screwed!

That is definitely a problem for people with Macs. I've worked in places as computer support. If you have a Mac the key thing is to find out what kind of software they have and what is the best way to save your work. It's not as bad as it used to be, but you do have to watch out. Your school computer lab could still have some of the oldest software around. Last think you need is to print out a paper at school, only to find you can't open it.

I'm a bit surprised that nobody brought this up: ask your school which they recommend! While there may be a blend of Macs and PCs on the campus you'll be attending, the specific school of nursing may be all one or the other. For example, University of Michigan is a known blended Mac/PC environment, but the School of Nursing is a PC-only environment and they even go so far as to publish a recommended computer list for every year's incoming class (courtesy of the university's ITCS department, of course).

There is a rumour that Mac will not be in business anymore after 10 years when PC take over the world..
