After 25 years in chemical engineering, and having an MS in chemistry, I've been admitted to the ADN program at the local community college.
How will this affect my career path once I've graduated?
Thanks everyone.

Once you graduate and pass the NCLEX, you'll be a new grad RN (who happens to have an MS in chemistry). Not sure what you're asking -- can you be more specific?
Welcome to allnurses. :balloons:

Hey bpuharic!
Congrats on your acceptance. Once you get a couple of years of clinical exp,you may want to consider pharmaceutical/clinical industry, or apply to some NP programs, and get some of your M.S. credits transfered.
Good Luck with watever you do

Welcome to AN and get ready for a wild ride. Nursing school can be quite challenging but if you are motivated you will not have any problems.
Congrats on getting into the program :)

You'll have created more options. Have you considered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) w/your chem background? I too come from the chem industry after 20+ yr's (B.A.) & am creating more options for myself by starting my ADN program. I have seen students w/Bachlor's & even Master's trying to get into ADN's & BSN's. Best of luck to you.
