Are hospitals and similar institutions looking for the training that differentiates a BSN from an ADN? If one already has a technical advanced degree would that change one's opportunities if one gets the ADN?

I've got A&P I with lab, and my first nursing course. For some reason, though I've got an M.S. the school's humanities requirements forced me to take English II which is a complete waste of time. So I've got 15 credits. I'm with you all the way!

After 25 years in chemical engineering, and having an MS in chemistry, I've been admitted to the ADN program at the local community college. How will this affect my career path once I've graduated? Thanks everyone.

What are the significant differences in professional responsibilities between the BSN and ADN? I'm going into nursing, via the ADN route, as a 2nd career. I have an M.S. in chemistry with 25 years as a chemical engineer. The program I'm taking lets me take A&P, microbiology, etc., in parallel with the clinical work. I was told this was unusual since they generally require these prior to applying to the nursing program, but, apparently my academics were good enough to qualify. Will there be a difference in treatment by employers because of my ADN/MS vs a BSN? And what about my age (I'll be 52 when I graduate). Thanks all!
