sometimes life is hard but you are working toward something..check out the various programs which will help you..

there are scholarships, grants and loans which will take some of the financial load off, get some counseling just having someone to talk too will help, see if there isn't something that your str can get involved with because this is a rough time for her too

good luck

julz. . .life is full of obstacles. if you look at things from a spiritual perspective (or went to a psychic) they would tell you that these things are thrown our way to help to strengthen our souls. it's makes us better people in the long run. hey! what can i say! we're californians and most people won't begrudge us for believing in that stuff!

california needs nurses and has an initiative to help people get their nursing education. there is probably some type of help you can get to get through school. check out these websites. worst case scenario is to go to your county office of social welfare and apply for assistance to get you through the remainder of your school program as well as for your daughter. in some cases an employer (even doctors) have to have good (and documented) reasons to terminate an employee so you should also file for unemployment benefits. the worst that can happen is they say "no". however, they can also turn around and tell the doctor that he can't fire an employee without following certain specific protocols (oh, yes, they can and will do that! this is california). people who are new to owning or managing their own businesses get hit with that reality right in the pocketbook because they have to pay the state back what the state pays out to the employee for the unemployment benefits. with half your program completed you should be able to get work in a nursing home easily.

http://www.nurse.ca.gov/ - california nurse outreach. the governors nurse education initiative home page. information here on how to become a nurse.

Just hang in there a bit longer and things will look brighter before you know it. Good luck to you

Hey there, I'm in the same boat as you are. Sometimes i feel like giving up and sometimes i regret going to nursing school because i've lost alot but also learned alot. Its starts to get easier and easier once you commit yourself. Just hang in there things will get easier.
