Hi everyone I am an lvn trying to get in bridge program at weathford college in tx, any other lvns apply? Im about avg on gpa and teas just want to know what my chances are? Are there any former wc lvn to rn students out there? If so what was your experience? Im scared to death I need a 4.0 and killer teas scores????

:uhoh3:

I just found out I got into the LVN to RN program there but I don't know anyone who has gone there. I would like to know if anyone knows anyone who has gone and how they did. I don't want to attend a school that doesnt help their students pass.

Lauraw32, I have been accepted into 2011-2012 LVN-RN program at Weatherford College also. I am very excited. I graduated from Weatherford's LVN program in 1996 and I have to say I had the best experience. I was really hoping I would be able to go back to Weatherford to further my education. I know at first, the program wasn't as strong, but most of them are not. But, I looked on the BON website and for the past 4 out of 5 years, the pass rate for boards have been 100%! I know when I went through the LVN program, we started with 77 students and graduated with only 33, but all of us passed state boards too! So, having said that, based on my previous experience, if you make it through their program, you will be prepared and able to pass state boards without a problem!!!!

angelia1020 I'm hoping to continue to work during the program but it looks like they have a full time program. Have you meet anyone who has gone through the LVN to RN program. I would like to know if you can still work and go through the weatherford program. I would think they would know that not everyone cant stop their whole life in order to go through their program. I know I will have to spend countless hours studing but is that program 5 days a week too. Would like to hear from you again.

I also have gotten accepted into the 2011 LVN-RN transition program at WC. I am very excited because I attended the LVN program at WC in 2000 and the professors were very helpful. They were always available if needed. I do not know anyone that has gone through the transition program there but I am assuming the ADN professors will be just as wonderful. I am hoping to find a carpool buddy since I live quite a ways away.

I need a car pool buddy too. I live in mansfield and will be driving an hour. My e-mail address is [email protected]

lauraw32, Dangit...I will be driving in from the opposite direction. I am in Bridgeport and will be driving about an hour too.

I hope we both find someone.

Karen and Laura, Congrats!!! I am so excited to meet you two!! We'll have to seek each other out on April 1st!! I can't hardly wait. It's been such a long wait. I know all of my friends and family will be so glad for me to finally get finished with school. I was a single mom when I went through LVN school and then I tried to work on my pre-reqs for a while but really needed to focus on my kids. I was finally at a place to focus on school again and here I am and here we go!!!:yeah:

Angelia, congrats to you too! I am also at a point in my life that I am ready and able to do this. Are you going to try to work during the program? I will probably work on Saturdays as long as we don't have clinicals that day. I know about 5 yrs ago they had Saturday clinicals at WC. So we shall see. Way to go Angelia and Laura! I look forward to meeting you both.:)

I do plan on working. Hoping to work friday, saturday and sunday. Im also a single mom and really have no other income. I know they dont like people to work during the program but how else can I pay my bills.

Very true! The bills keep coming. Its hard to put them on hold. lol

I was an alternate last year at WC so I went through the orientation in hopes of getting in but did not.

The schedule that they past out at orientation was pretty full time the first summer semester but the second summer semester had a lot of days off from what I remember. Hopefully we can work quite a bit then.

I am currently in the LVN program at WC and am looking into the LVN bridge to RN program at WC as well. I have heard though that due to budget cuts that the program won't be starting another class (after 2011 start) until late 2012...? Any news on that? What advice would current applicants/students in the program give? I really have enjoyed the hands on experience thus far in the LVN program. :D
