LVN Pay in your Area???

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

I'm curious to see how much LVNs make across the country as I am returning to the field after a 6 - 7 year absence. When I left, LVNs in my area (Houston area) barely made pocket change. I've been pleasantly surprised to see the starting salary being offered in some job ads.

Also, post your specialty and how many years at your job.

Thanks!

I am in rural Iowa, and have been an LPN for around 15 years, with that experience in LTC I am at a whopping $15.00 an hour....but, the benefits are good, as I have to carry health insurance for the whole family, husband works for a SMALL company that doesn't offer insurance

Oh my! I am a new grad LPN(August 1st 05) and the LTC facility in my little rural town (pays for new grads)base $14-base(7-3), $3 more for 3-11 and $2 more for 11-7. I want to work about 40miles away and I was told that Base would be $16(7-3 or day 7a-7p), and the insurance is decent. I have had one interview & will meet with someone else tomorrow, so I'm still going to try to neg more$ because I'm try to work the baylor program. Check this out I live in one of the lowest paid states-Mississippi. Well at least I thought:uhoh3:

Am a new grad looking to move to Raleigh/Durham, Chapel Hill area. does anyone have any info on pay rates for Lpn in that area? LTC and Hosp.

By the way, how does one get a hospital to call back????? I have applied to several positions in hospitals but have received NO call backs. am starting to question if there really is nursing shortage. Thanks a bunch!

Here in WV, the pay for hospital LPN's is low and jobs are hard to come by for the LPN now, the highest salary I ever heard an LPN say was 14.50/hr with benefits and she had worked there 12 years. LTC facilities pay much better, around 15.00 to start and go to around 21.00 with diffs and benefits.
