LVN in one state RN in another?

Published

Hello. I was recently denied by the CABON for RN nclex..so I pursued the CA LVN.. I waited for 8 months and there was no reply whatsoever. So I recently applied in Oregon board of nursing but just recently..I heard from the BVNPT. And now Im torn which route I should pursue.. The q is.. Can I have a California LVN license and Oregon RN license at the same time? Does this make any sense? anyone? :) Replies would be appreciated thank you! ;)

Yes. Those licenses are independent of each other since they involve two different states of jurisdiction. There are also nurses who have both LVN and RN license in the same state. Some nurses went from LVN to RN to NP and have had all those licenses. You can also have as many RN licenses in many states as you want, not that someone would really need that.
