Hi everyone, I was hoping to find some answers in here. I applied for LVN licensure exam last march 2013. I received back the postcard that I send after about 2 weeks but until now I still don't know if my application was approved to take the exam. How long will I wait? Ive been waiting for like 7 months now.

Call them. 7 months is too long .... way too long. Also, call your school and see what they can offer in the way of help. Did you get your fingerprints done? That was one of the things I had to do ... I'm waiting for my test date, but I've had correspondence from the school telling me that everything is on track.
It shouldnn't take more than 3-4 month start to finish.

Is there a legitimate reason for the delay? Are you an IEN (internationally educated nurse), or do you have a criminal history, or could there be something else that the California BVNPT needs to process?
yes Im an IEN and I don't have criminal history. but if my transcript was the issue that wont be possible because my transcript was sent first before my application. I applied to NCLEX-RN but got rejected so they advised me to apply for LVN instead and they offered to send my transcripts to LVN board for free and I said yes, they even sent me letter that my transcripts has been sent to LVN board.
yes fingerprints done. and Im an International graduate. Can I call them and ask about it?

Hi! Same with husband. It's almost 7months since he sent his application form together with the required documents. Until now, no notifications nor response from bvnpt. So sad.

Hi, yes California has been extremely slow in processing paperwork for exams and licensure. I graduated my LVN program in July and did not receive my approval to test until mid November, thats 4months! I just took NCLEX yesterday. By the sounds of it it will probably be another month before I get my official results and then another month for a hard copy of my license! So frustrating! I think 6-8months for this is ridiculous.

After you took the exam did u try pearsonvue trick to Check if u pass? If not then try. Also if you receive your letter that you pass after 4 weeks of your test and u made it you can go directly to vocational nursing office and ask them to pay money order and give temporary license so u can start working and they will allow that per my friends.Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

Ca just instituted a vocational nurse interim permit. It's called VNIP. Cost $40 and you can perform duties of an LVN under supervision of RN. Google it on the BVNPT website.

My application was mailed out around the end of December, and was processed mid December. I did not get my ATT until May. What you can do is email them, I emailed them about 2x/week trying to follow up because it's impossible to reach them by phone. I got my ATT 2 weeks later.
