Hi All,
Anybody who applied recently for license in California?? How long will it take before you can see your name on BVNPT website? And how long before you will receive you license in the mail?
Thank you so much!

I took the NCLEX in 2009 and I received my license approximately 5 weeks later. I don't know why CA takes so long.

Here's how the licensure verification process goes in CA:
1. You take the NCLEX-PN
2. You wait several weeks for your results to arrive via snail mail
3. If you receive a passing result, you mail a copy of it to the BVNPT along with a $150 check
4. The BVNPT will receive your check and cash it
5. The BVNPT will post your name, license number, and status online several weeks after cashing the check

Thank you for posting the concise steps. I just took my NCLEX-PN today 2/23/12, shut off at 85!, did the "PVT" and the "Good" pop up came up.... you would think Calif would want to see more $$ and would open up the "Quick" answer by website....anyhow, I still would like to see a "pass", confirmed on paper/website yesterday :icon_roll the eternal waiting game awagh!

hi care2heal, congratulations on ur passing, im proud of u! can you give me some tips please on the exam, i have been reviewing for nclex rn but cant sit down to take it due to some req problems, so the exam process would just be similar to the NCLEX- RN>... what books can you recommend, thanks a lot!!
Hi Micha084,
For my NCLEX-PN, I read Saunders NCLEX-PN w/CD (Green book), Lippcott NCLEX-PN Flash Cards, Davis NCLEX PN notes, ATI Comprehensive, reviewed my Lab Values, Dosages, ABG's, Pay attention to Delegation, Prioritization, ABCs, Pharm(?)(the skies the limit); you've got to remember they have a bank of 9,000 questions to choose from. I didn't get any sounds. I got a number of SATA :). I got a total of 85 questions, did the PVT trick, got the good pop up, 6 days later received the "Has Passed" letter to apply for my license :). Hope that helps. I prayed alot. Good Luck, Study & Pray :-)

Hi there, I currently hold an LPN license in the state of Colorado since 2007. But have been in the medical feild as a dialysis tech since 2004. I plan to relocate in 2 weeks to California. My license is currently, active and a compact license. I'm also IV certified, vent and trach. Experience with infants, toddlers, teens, young adults and geriatrics . My question here is what is the process to get a CA license endorsement. I filled out the application and sending them in transcripts. My other question is can I find work right away and work under a Colorado licence until my permanent or temporary nursing license gets mailed to me as long as its in good standing. Doe anyone know???? Please I can even do phlebotomy work!! ?nurse132
I received my "Has Passed" letter for my NCLEX-PN on 3/2/2012, I took my test on 2/23/12 :w00t: PTL!
