LVN license revoked, need assistance to regain licensure

Published

Hello,

My name is Wandia Winfield. I was an LPN for years in the state of Louisiana and Mississippi. In 2006, my license was revoked in Mississippi due to a medication error and failure to abide by the ruling. My reasons were, it was very hard to obtain employment when you have to be watched while doing your job. I tried everywhere and everybody said they would call me. In 2007, I applied for license renewal in Louisiana, unfortunately by mistake I checked the box that said no my license had no sanctions. Within the same year I was charged with falsifying public record, placed on two years probation. Now I have no life, nursing was all I have ever done and I am having problems finding employment. I was told I couldn't work where Medicare and Medicaid funding are involved. Is there anything you can tell me that can help me out?

Thanks

hi,

Formerly, I was am LPN for about 5 years when I made a medication error in Mississippi and my license was revoked. Went to work in Louisiana and checked no on my re renewal when had my licensed been revoked in any other state. After that I was arrested and charged with falsifying public record. After reading some of the blogs posted, a lot of nurses are being reinstated, but I was told that my license were revoked permanently. Is there anything that I can do with my situation? Nursing was and still is the only thing I know how to do, can't find employment and the bills still come in. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The nurses that are being reinstated have sought legal advice and hired attorney's to assist them in that process. You have made some grave mistakes...I wish you the very best.

hi,

Thanks for your information. Although my mistakes may have been grave, the way I look at it there is no difference than being on drugs. I have worked with nurses that gave too much medication and took people lives. My medication error came as a result of our lock box being packed wrong and I have an irate patient I had to calm down. Never meant to hurt anyone. Well I guess an attorney is my next step. Thanks

I have to agree with Esme: you need far more assistance than we can provide here, and our TOS prohibits offering legal advice. You need a lawyer if you want your license back.
