Can any body out there please give me some advice will even work as unit secretary. When I do get my licence does any one know of any hospitals in my area that hire fresh male graduates. It's never too early to start looking for a job as an LPN, even if they won't let you work until you get your license. I had a job lined up at a nursing home while I was still in my last month of school, but could not start patient care until I had my license verification online. I did go through a few days of training before I had my license, but I was not allowed to do any hands on work.
I also temped through an agency. They started me working positions that didn't require licensed personnel, such as a one-on-one or sitter, and as an aide in group homes for the developmentally disabled. That was a good opportunity since it got my foot in the door, and I later went back as an LPN to work in those same group homes after I left my job at the nursing home.

I'd contact your state board of nursing to learn if you can work as a GPN(graduate practical nurse) first and then if told you can, search out LTCs or medical offices to see if they hire GPNs. Good luck!

This will vary by State, as well as facility. You'll need to check with your SBON to find out if you have the option, and then the individual facility you are interested in to see their policies.
Best of luck to you!
