I worked for the other big company, and they hire LPNS and provide on the job training. I was told I would be working 10 hour shifts, but the reality was 16 hours. They told a lot of fibs (ok glaaring lies) to get new hires in the door, and most quit post orientation when the schedule comes out. Having said that, I must say that I really diod enjoy working in dialysis and working with dialysis patients. I have moved on, but I miss it!
You need to do a bit of research. You need the job in dialysis before you can take the exam. There are some dialysis PCT courses, but the two big dialysis companies hire and train you themselves.
i wanted to do some sort of certification so when I go to apply for the job I can get it. How can I get 2000 hours if I cant get hired for dialysis?

Can LVN's work at dialysis clinics such as Davita? I head that Dialysis nurses work 12 hour shifts. does anyone know if that is true? How do I become "dialysis certified"?
I am an LVN and my first job out of school has been as an LVN case manager for a health insurance company. I have been at my job for a little over 1 yr now and finally have the "1 yr exp req" under my belt. I think I may like doing dialysis better. Can anyone help me out with how I would go about actually becoming a dialysis nurse?
