Lvn coleman college

I'm applying in may for the LVN program I'm taking my last class which is A and P for allied health I have to do the information session and also the teas. I'm so nervous

If you are talking about HCC Coleman, in Houston, TX, good luck! I'm in the first level of the program now and it's not so bad, but Pharmacology is killer.

I'm waiting to see how their 2013 NCLEX results look. They were wayyyyy down for the ADN program this year. Ouch!

I hope I get in.

Is there an interview? And am I going to have to write an essay and give references?

It goes like this:

1. Turn in your application with your TEAS scores, making sure that you've made 75 or above in A&P and Nutrition beforehand, and that you've gone to the information session.

2. Wait to get a letter in the mail saying that you can go to the interview, but you have to write a short essay about yourself and get 3 reference letters from people who are not your relatives. You also need to interview a practicing LVN and type up an essay based on that interview.

3. On interview day, bring your reference letter, bio essay, and LVN interview essay with you, and wait to be interviewed that day. When I went, they broke us up into 2 groups of 30, so one group was one day and the next group was the next day.

4. After interview day, you wait for another letter in the mail, saying you can go to uniform fittings along with a packet of things you need to do before the semester starts or you've been rejected but can send in a form saying that you want to be considered for the next semester.

I applied for Fall 2013, but I didn't make it in since there were so many applicants for that semester. I got my rejection letter and sent in my form saying that I wanted to be considered for the next semester, then I finally received my packet a few months later for the Spring 2014 semester, I didn't have to do the interview again.

Only 50-60 students get accepted each semester. Good luck!

So far I got a B in nutrition and I have a high B in A and P I haven't finished that's course yet. My GPA is a 2.65 the minimum is a 2.00. I signed up for the information session. And now I'm registering for the TEAS.

They will tell me all this at the information session right?

How are you liking the program?

Whoops, I meant to edit the post, and it posted another one. I can't delete this post, read the post below.

Yes they will, but in case they don't, you know now that I've told you.

How are you liking the program?

Like I said before, it's not too bad, it's just Pharmacology that's hard, but I'm managing to pass it somehow. Also some of the teachers like to be tricky on the tests and like to put "select all that apply", so you have to read the questions and answers very carefully, you probably have already seen this in A&P and Nutrition. You just have to study a lot for all of the classes. Clinicals are fun too, since you get to see and do things with real people.
