LVN to BSN National University January 2014

Published

Hello! Has anyone else applied for the LVN to BSN Cohort 6 at NU in San Diego??? I did the essay and Teas today and the waiting game has begun. I would like some company while I anxiously await for "THE" email, so let me know if your out there!! :) :)

I'm hear youI amsjadiaz! I consider myself pretty literate and was surprised to see that was my weakest area. How does the rest of grading criteria look for you? We all seem pretty close with each other so far.

Ooo_awie how did you do?

I have 3.97 in Science GPA with all first attempts. My points so far without essay:

GPA 29.77

TEAS 23.70

Attempts 20.00

= 73.47

Looking at last years forum for NU LVN-BSN and their scores, I saw an alternate select that scored around 69 before essay, and people that scored about 70(before essay) and above were accepted. Not sure if the pool is similar to last year. The essay can make or break as well. Fingers crossed!

That's great!!!

This is what I (and someone from the previous cohort) came to for my score.

Attempts 20

GPA 28.8

TEAS 22.8

Total 71.68

If I give myself a 3.5/5 for the essay then that's 14 points with a total of 85.68.

For those who may be reading this and are unable to figure out your GPA, here is what Sammi from the previous cohort sent me ...

For the science/biomed portion you take the points that are assigned to the grade you received and multiply it by the units for that class. Once you do that for all your classes you add up your total and divide by 22.5 (sum of total units) that will give you your gpa. To calculate your points in science you would take your gpa multiple it by 10, divide it by 40 (highest gpa you can get), and multiply that by 30 (weight percent for science portion) and that will give you your points.

How do u figure out pts for teas ? Or is there a pg on their website to figure this out?

They calculate the TEAS points by dividing your TEAS score by 100 then multiply by 30.

I'm surprised no one else has commented on this thread :( I'm dying to find out where I stand.

According to another forum, the generic NU BSN applicants that starts in January 2014 just got there notifications on October 20th. So we are about a month away from finding out.... I am on pins and needles!

Yes, he said first of December. Eeeek!

Hey guys, I am in the LVN-BSN Cohort 5. If you have any questions let me know! I would love to help you out, I know it's a miserable time waiting for results!!

Hello JFay011! How is the program? Can you recall what other TEAS scores/GPA you and your classmates got?

Honestly I have no idea. I believe the average TEAS score was about 75.

The program has been good but I would prefer we speak over PM for that.

Okay we are getting closer to finding out and the anxiety is building!!! Crossing my fingers for us!!!
