I know theres another "Fall 2017" thread for LPCH, but it seemed like it was for the April cohort instead. So heres a new thread for those who applied to the fall Sept 2017 cohort at LPCH!
There was word going around that they wouldn't have a cohort this season due to the new hospital, but I guess they decided to have one anyways. Let's keep each other updated with anything we hear from them (:
@LDNurseOB1 That's awesome that you started volunteering as a CLS! Im sure in the future that will definitely benefit you. I for sure want to become a certified lactation specialist so hopefully I get that opportunity :) Your time will come, I have no doubt!

Thank you! Good luck at your interview NurseKAY2017, I'm out her rooting for you! :)
Nursejackie17 and Peds_new_grad how did your interviews go?! Keep us all posted if you get the position!
I think mine went well! It's hard with group interviews, not really my preference. There was 5 of us and we were split in a group of 3 and 2 and were told we'd hear back by end of next week!
Hey everyone! Just thought I'd give an update. I had my interview with L&D last week with the assistant managers- I was the only candidate though. I learned there 9 candidates for L&D and only 2 positions.
I felt the interview went very well because it felt like a conversation on both ends. I was at ease by the managers and because I had prepped behavioral questions. I wore an outfit I felt very comfortable and confident in- it was a blazer with a white top tucked into a long skirt with 2 inch heels- they even complimented me on my outfit so that was nice. I also had my portfolio ready for all four managers with their names on them.
With all this said, I was unofficially verbally offered and accepted 1 of 2 positions in the L&D unit the day after my interview and I am so so so excited to begin this journey. I wish you all the best in your careers :) please private message me with any questions - want to make sure I am following all the terms and conditions on here!
Hi! Thanks for sharing! I have my interview with Maternity on Tuesday. I don't think I'm able to private message on here (at least I don't know how lol). I was wondering if you just asked the the names of the managers who'd be interviewing you beforehand in order to incorporate them in to your portfolio? Also, is there a second interview round? Feel free not to answer if you're not comfortable :)

Wow, impressive. I have basically every certification under the sun. But I just very recently started volunteering as a certified lactation specialist but it has only been a few weeks. I have nursing school volunteer experience but none in actual health care which is where I'm thinking my resume is lacking
