I know theres another "Fall 2017" thread for LPCH, but it seemed like it was for the April cohort instead. So heres a new thread for those who applied to the fall Sept 2017 cohort at LPCH!

There was word going around that they wouldn't have a cohort this season due to the new hospital, but I guess they decided to have one anyways. Let's keep each other updated with anything we hear from them (:

Congratulations to all those who got the job offers!! =) I can't wait to meet everyone in the Sep 2017 Cohort. BTW, has anyone heard anything new? I accepted the offer, got my background check and physical, but I'm not sure how we know if we are moving foward. D= My anxiety level has not gone down lol. If anyone has any insight, I'd greatly appreciate it! =]

For those who have not received offers or haven't applied this round, has anyone heard information regarding any future New Grad Cohorts? I would appreciate it if anyone could share any rumblings they may have heard about LPCH opening up applications for a new cohort! Thank You!

I got in touch with one of the nurse educators that I know at LPCH. First off, I was told that the most recent new grad cohort essentially only included L&D/Maternity, even though the application suggested otherwise. That explains a lot lol, in terms of majority of us being rejected. Second, I was told next planned cohort will be next fall. However, I was only speaking with PICU staff so I don't know if this plan is unit specific or not, due to the move that is supposed to happen in December.

Hi,

I plan on applying for the Sept 2018 program. I am moving from out of state so I don't have any contacts over in the bay area. Would someone be able to give me some information about the program any advice regarding getting hired etc. Also, if someone knows the information for the nurse recruiter who looks at the applications I would be really grateful for the information. Thank you!!

With all this said, I was unofficially verbally offered and accepted 1 of 2 positions in the L&D unit the day after my interview and I am so so so excited to begin this journey. I wish you all the best in your careers :) please private message me with any questions - want to make sure I am following all the terms and conditions on here!

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd give an update. I had my interview with L&D last week with the assistant managers- I was the only candidate though. I learned there 9 candidates for L&D and only 2 positions.

I felt the interview went very well because it felt like a conversation on both ends. I was at ease by the managers and because I had prepped behavioral questions. I wore an outfit I felt very comfortable and confident in- it was a blazer with a white top tucked into a long skirt with 2 inch heels- they even complimented me on my outfit so that was nice. I also had my portfolio ready for all four managers with their names on them.
