Hi all!
Lucile Packard just opened their next round of applications. Just wanted to start a thread to talk about it! This is my second time applying, and it was so helpful to have support from one another.
Are you applying/did you apply? What units are you most interested in?
I applied for PICU and Pedi Acute ?

I interviewed with 400, they told me we would hear via a phone call today if we were selected, I didn't get a call today so I'm guessing I wasn't selected. ? Did 400 say the same during your interview? That they will call Friday? I don't know about 200 though.

Transparency time – I was actually offered a position in the residency, but I did not pass my NCLEX and therefore had to defer the offer... It was absolutely devastating to turn down my dream job, but I have kept the faith and reapplied.
Best of luck to every single person that joins/sees this thread!
Hey @nursejess619 !! ? This is a long shot but I’m hoping you’ll somehow see this message! I was wondering if there was any chance you could tell me more about why you had to turn down the position? I think I may have found myself in a similar situation and I’m really stressed ?
Did you not have your license before the start date of the program? Or was there an even earlier date that they wanted you to have it by (like a few weeks before the start date)? And were they not willing to be flexible or work with you at all to allow you to pass your NCLEX and then start? Sorry for so many questions, hope everything worked out for the best for you! And thanks in advance if you are able to reply, I appreciate it so much ?

You need to have license but the start date. I was in the situation where I was still waiting on ATT before start date and they said if you don’t have your license by the date, you’ll have to reapply and go through the interview process again the next cohort. They are not flexible bc everyone starts at the same time. I can’t find the email but I remember that I was told that they need the license number by the start date for HR purposes. If you have already passed NCLEX and are awaiting your license number you can search for it on the BRN or call the BRN first thing when they open and ask if they have your license number.

@gmhnikki Hi! Sorry to bother you again but I was hoping you could answer another question for me if you don't mind.
I was offered a position for the upcoming cohort, which starts March 28th. The application stated we need our license by March 14th. Unfortunately, the earliest NCLEX test date available after I got my ATT was March 16th. (I will be flying to SoCal to take it because there is nothing available in the Bay Area, I have been checking the website daily to see if earlier dates open up but have not seen anything yet).
I was wondering if when you applied, they had a similar date around 2 weeks before the program that they said you needed it by, or if it was the actual start date of the program. If I pass the exam on the 16th, I feel like I will still have time to provide my license to HR before the start date on the 28th, but I'm not sure if the 14th is the date that they will be really strict about.
I have tried reaching out to HR multiple times to ask about this but have not heard back and I'm getting super anxious so I was hoping you could tell me about your experience. Thank you so much in advance, I am so grateful if you see this and are able to reply!

Hey! So unfortunately even with your circumstances they will not budge on the date you need your license by. Keep checking for dates bc there were plenty of dates all over norcal for me that I even kept changing my date to have sufficient time to get my license. It’s really just nerve wracking to have deadlines so close but they will not budge and there have been people in the same position who ended up having to decline and reapply and reinterview again so it’s not a new issue that they’ve had in the past with applicants.
just keep checking all the time for dates bc there’s always dates opening up due to people getting scared/not ready etc.

Thank you so much for the reply! I'll definitely keep checking for test dates. Have you heard of people being successfully hired when they applied a second time? I wonder if they would count it as a negative against my application when they saw that I had already applied and interviewed but was not successful in getting my license on time
